House of Representatives investigates use of N270m to clear grass at IDPs camps

The House of Representatives Committee on IDPs and the North-East Initiatives‎ is investigating how the Presidential Initiative on the North-East (PINE) which is under the supervision of the Office of the Secretary General of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, spent N270 million on just clearing of grasses in some IDP camps.  Also being investigated by house committee is the purported allocation of N188.69 million for Nigerian refugees living in Minawao, Republic of Cameroon‎.
At a public hearing on IDPs which held at the National Assembly yesterday October 6th, the Chairman of the committee, Sani Zorro, berated the SGF for failing to honor their invitation to explain how such a huge amount of money was spent.

Ghana to begin exportation of fuel to Nigeria, other African countries as it aims to dominate West African distribution market

Ghana’s Minister of Petroleum, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has revealed that the country has commenced the exportation of fuel and gas to the landlocked countries of Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali from the Bolgatanga Petroleum Depot.

The minister who made the revelation at a meet-the-press series in Accra also disclosed that the state-owned Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited, is also supplying petroleum products to Benin Republic and Nigeria with plans to extend to Liberia in the coming months.

$11million worth of jewellery reportedly stolen from Kim Kardashian at gunpoint in Paris

News broke earlier that Kim Kardashian West was held at gunpoint and robbed in a discreet luxury residence in Paris by at least two armed masked men dressed as police officers, on Monday between the hours of 2 to 4 am. It has now been revealed that at least '$11 million' worth of jewellery was stolen. The men reportedly stole a jewellery box worth €6 million ($6.7 million) and a ring worth €4 million ($4.5 million).

Turkish government detains 50 Nigerian Students in Istanbul over failed coup

More than 50 Nigerians studying in Turkey have been reportedly arrested by the Turkish police over their alleged involvement in the failed military coup which took place in the country on July 15th.
