Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission Secretary Assasinated

The Executive Secretary of the Bayelsa state Independent Electoral Commission, Simon Akpen has been assassinated. According to Sahara Reporters, Akpen was shot point blank in the head at his residence in Otiotio road, Yenogoa around 10pm on Friday October 10th by unknown gunmen who laid an ambush for him as he returned home from an outing. He died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, the state's police commissioner, Valentine Ntomchukwu, said it's a suspected case of assassination as no valuable was taken from the deceased residence after he was killed

"In my opinion, it may be a case of assassination because they didn't take anything away after killing him" Ntomchukwu said

Archbishop of Jos defends gays, asks FG to stop punishing them

The Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama, has condemned the criminalization of gays in Nigeria. Speaking with the Vatican's weekly publication, The Tablet, on Wednesday October 8th, Archbishop Kaigama said the catholic church does not support the criminalizing of people due to their different sexual orientation and urged the federal government to stop punishing gay people.

"We are not supporting the criminalization of people with different sexual orientations. We would defend any person with homosexual orientation who is being harassed, who is being imprisoned, who is being punished. The federal government may want to punish them, we don't. In fact, we will tell the government to stop punishing those with different orientations" he said

40 year old Suresh Kumar was beaten and castrated after he was caught trying to rape a teenage girl in a dark alleyway in Ganganagar city in India. According to local media reports, the girl's screams for help attracted people around the area who then dragged him to a nearby butcher's shop and used a meat cleaver to remove his manhood after beating him mercilessly.

Ebola Virus: First Consultant Hospital indicts Liberian Ambassador

First Consultants Medical Centre, the Lagos hospital where the man who brought Ebola to Nigeria, late Liberian Patrick Sawyer died, has indicted the Liberian Ambassador to Nigeria (pictured right) for his involvement in the case, saying he put the hospital under pressure to release Sawyer against the wish of its management, Vanguard reports.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Benjamin Ohiaeri, said:

"The ambassador said if we continued to keep him (Sawyer), it would be tantamount to kidnap and abuse of human right. He said if we did not release him, we would be subjecting our hospital to international diplomatic row and we should not rule out the possibility of law suit.”

18 year old kills his own mother and loses his virginity to her corpse

18 year old Kevin Jazrael Davis (pictured left) has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his own mother. According to reports, Kevin attacked his mother (pictured right) with a hammer, striking her 20 times on the head, on March 26th 2014 at their home and then had sex with her corpse.

According to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, in a police video showed to jurors during his trial, Kevin confessed to having violent and sexual fantasies involving women, including his own mother and sister. He attacked his mother when they were alone and turned himself in to police the next day.

Kevin, who told police that he was not insane and knew what he was doing, said he put his hand inside her mother's head to feel her brain and then lost his virginity to her corpse. He was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday October 8th.

Man kills wife, says prophet told him she was using his star

A man has been arrested by the Nigerian police over the murder of a middle-aged woman, identified as Silifat Yakubu. She was allegedly killed by her husband, Ismail Yakubu, at Igbele, near Araromi Ale Olorunda Local Council Development Area, along Badagry Expressway in Lagos.

It was gathered that the mutilated body of the deceased was found in a small river located at the community’s entrance, where she was supposedly dumped after she was murdered.

According to Vanguard, some of the victim’s body parts, such as her eyes, breasts and uterus, were allegedly missing when her corpse was found by passersby, suggesting that she must have been murdered for ritual purposes.
