Penelope Cruz named Sexiest Woman Alive according to Esquire mag

Stunning actress and mother of two Penelope Cruz has been named the Sexiest Woman Alive according to Esquire magazine's annual list of desirable female beauties. 

The Spanish actress, 40, inherits the title from Scarlett Johansson who was the Sexiest Woman last year. Cruz is currently married to Spanish actor Javier Bardem. She's a beauty!

Sad! Actor Clems Onyeka killed by stray bullet in Asaba this afternoon

So sad! Popular Nollywood actor Clems Onyeka has died. He was gunned down by a stray bullet in Asaba this afternoon October 14th. According to eye-witnesses, robbers who robbed a bank along Summit Express, were exchanging gun fire with police when Clems got hit by a stray bullet. He was just 37 years old. May his soul rest in peace...Amen.

Panic in Bayelsa state as unknown soldier runs amok, kills colleague

There was pandemonium yesterday night among security agencies in Yenagoa, Bayelsa after a soldier suspected to be drunk, shot and killed his colleague during an argument.

According to eye-witnesses, the incident happened around 11pm on Monday night at Olopa Junction, very close to Bayelsa State Government House. The yet to be identified soldier was immediately disarmed and arrested by his other colleagues and is currently remanded in a police cell.

The killer and victim are said to be attached to the police station in Olopa junction, Yenagoa. Spokesperson of Bayelsa State Police Command, Alex Akhigbe confirmed the killing but said it was a military affair.

Photo: Dallas nurse with Ebola virus has been identified

The Dallas nurse who contracted Ebola while treating Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, has been identified at 26 year old Nina Pham. Nina, according to report, was among over 50 staff of the hospital that cared for Duncan who later died on October 8th.

Nina is said to probably have had the closest contact with Duncan, she was his personal nurse and was in his room often. She and others who cared for Duncan wore protective gear, including gowns, gloves, masks and face shields, and sometimes full-body suits but that didn't help Nina. She's officially the first person to contract the disease within the US.

She's currently being treated at the same hospital. Yesterday, she received a blood transfusion from Ebola survivor, Dr Kent Brantly.

Nigerian soldier, 23 year old Obinna Izuala was killed by Boko Haram men during a gun battle in Borno state on September 25th. He has since been buried.

Looks like NFF is looking for another coach to replace Stephen Keshi

After losing 3-2 to Congo, 1-0 to a meek Sudanese side, drawing with South Africa and being at the bottom of Group A with a single point after three rounds of matches in the qualifying tournament for Morocco 2015, it looks like the Nigeria Football Federation is getting ready to replace Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.

The NFF have said they won't make any hasty decisions on Keshi's future but will wait till the match tomorrow to know what step to take next. Sports analyst believe that if the Super Eagles fail to win the match tomorrow, then Keshi can as well kiss his job goodbye.

Pres. Jonathan commiserates with Alamieyeseigha on the death of his son

Former Bayelsa state governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha's second son Oyamuyefa was killed in Dubai over the weekend. Some reports claim he committed suicide but it's been confirmed that he was actually murdered. Hopefully, we will get the full story in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Pres. Jonathan and his wife have released a statement commiserating with the former governor. UN worker who contracted Ebola in Liberia dies in Germany

A United Nation Aids worker who was being treated for Ebola at the St George clinic in Leipzig, Germany has died. The unidentified UN worker who was flown back to Germany from Liberia  last week after contracting the deadly virus, died in the early hours of today, October 14th. A statement from the hospital read;
"The Ebola patient died during the night in the St. George Clinic in Leipzig. Despite intensive medical measures and maximum efforts by the medical team, the 56 year old succumbed to the serious infectious disease"

Winners Chapel GO Bishop David Oyedepo who recently turned 60, has reacted to the Forbes List of World's Richest pastors where he was placed at No.1 with an estimated worth of about $150million.

Asked about Forbes' estimate of his fortune, Bishop Oyedepo told Reuters that he doesn't know how Forbes arrived at their figure but says he's blessed...
"For me, to have fortune means someone who has what he needs at any point in time. I don't see myself as having $150 million stacked up somewhere. Whatever way they found their figures, I am only able to say I am blessed by the Lord."

They were all between the ages of 15 and 18. One of the sons of former Bayelsa State governor DSP Alamieyeseigha, was killed in Dubai on Saturday October 11th. According to unconfirmed reports, Oyoms Alamieyeseigha was found dead either in a hotel room or his father's house on Saturday.

Mysterious woman who allegedly transformed from a bird dies in hospital

The woman who eyewitnesses claim fell from tension wire while flying as a bird and turned into this woman pictured above at Cappa B-stop, Oshodi on Friday Oct. 10th, has died in hospital.

Witnesses claim they saw a bird flying around the area around 12noon that Friday afternoon, then the bird hit a high tension clable and then transformed into a badly burnt woman. Policemen arrived the scene as a crowd gathered the supposed 'witch' and took her to the hospital..

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, told Punch that the woman died in hospital and her body has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital’s morgue.

Aliko Dangote sues Zambian Labour minister over bribe claim

Aliko Dangote's company in Zambia, Dangote Industries Zambia is suing the country's Labour Minister, Fackson Shamenda, for defamation.

According to AFP, the company initiated the lawsuit after the mr Shamenda claimed that a senior company official of Dangote Industries tried to bribe him.
The company is now seeking unspecified damages for slander and libel as well as special damages in the sum of 112,042.84 kwacha ($17,728), according to documents filed in the High Court.

Pics: Robbers kill Brig. General Dominic Oneya's daughter in Delta state

The daughter of former military administrator of Kano and Benue States and former NFA president, Brigadier General Dominic Oneya, Frances Oneya (pictured left) was shot dead by suspected armed robbers on Friday October 10th after she left a bank in Delta State.

According to friends who shared her sad demise on her Facebook wall, the mother of four was shot dead while seating in the driver seat of her car after she went to a bank to cash some money. The incident happened around 10:40am on Friday along Ovie Palace road, Effurun by KW junction.

According to eyewitness, after shooting Frances, the robbers took the money she had on her and escaped through the road that links the Ovie Palace road to the G.R.A. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Too sad. See photos from the incident after the cut...
