62 year old Pastor Isaiah Ojo has been arrested by the Oyo state police command for having sex with the seven-year-old daughter of his friend and fellow pastor, Bidemi (not real name) on the altar of his church, Dayspring Family Chapel situated in the Egbeda area of Ibadan, Oyo state on May 9th.

Tribune reports that the accused was arrested on Thursday, May 12th by Egbeda Division of the Oyo State Police Command.

When David Cameron was caught on camera last week before an anti-corruption summit describing Nigeria as ‘fantastically corrupt’, the African state’s president rallied to the Prime Minister’s defence by agreeing with him. But although Muhammadu Buhari is seen by some as leading the battle against corruption, worrying allegations swirl around one of his close allies.

Rotimi Amaechi, who travelled with the president to the summit, is Nigeria’s transport minister and is said to have bankrolled Buhari’s presidential campaign.

A Nigerian man on Thursday, May 12 attacked his Cambodian wife at a bar called Candy Bar, located in Psa Kandal commune, Doun Penh district, Cambodia, causing injury to her head. The man was stopped by others at the place and reported to the police while the woman was taken to the hospital to be treated.

The Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, and its affiliates which includes the Trade Union Congress, TUC, have given the Federal government a 96-hours ultimatum to revert to the old pump price of N86.50 or face a total strike that will begin on Wednesday May 18th.

At a meeting held in Abuja yesterday, NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, said if the government failed to revert to the old price and stop the deregulation of the oil sector by midnight of Tuesday May 17th, the workers would have no option than to embark on a total strike by Wednesday May 18th.

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC says the new N145 pump price of petrol will crash within the next three months. In a media briefing with newsmen in Abuja on Friday May 13th, the Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, says just like the Global System of Mobile telecommunication, GSM, the price of fuel is bound to reduce due to competitive market forces.

President Muhammadu Buhari to name looters on May 29th

In an interview in London on Friday May 13th before he returned to Abuja, President Buhari said that the names of corrupt Nigerians will be made public in a speech he intends to deliver on May 29 and that those named will be prosecuted. He also said he was coming after people bombing and destroying pipelines in the Niger Delta;

“So far, what has come out, what has been recovered in whatever currency from each ministries, departments and individuals, I intend on the 29th to speak on this because all Nigerians are getting from the mass media because of the number of people arrested either by the EFCC, DSS. But we want to make a comprehensive report on the 29th.
