Ayo Fayose hints he might dump PDP come 2018

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, today hinted he might choose his successor from another political party besides his party, PDP. Fayose gave the hint when he spoke with members of the Suppliers’ Association of Nigeria in the state today November 30th. According to him, the division within PDP led to the party losing Ondo state to APC in last Saturday's governorship election

“I don’t know the platform I will use for the 2018 election yet and at the appropriate time, I will tell you. We are still studying the situation . We have to play the game left, right and centre and whoever we are going to use and the platform, you will all be part of the process because party politics is about the people”he said

NCC suspends planned data price hike

Authorities of the Nigerian Communications Commission NCC has suspended its plan to increase data tariff on all telecommunication networks with effect from tomorrow December 1st. A statement by the commission says the suspension is to allow for further consultation by all stakeholders.

Nigerians have reacted angrily to the recent directive by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to telecom operators to increase the tariff for data services, with several of them calling on the National Assembly to intervene in the matter.

In reaction to the NCC directive, MTN has started sending out bulk messages to its subscribers alerting them of the planned increase. The text message read: “Dear customer, please be informed that from 1st Dec, some MTN data tariffs will be increased to reflect the new rates set by the NCC to operators. Thank you.”

76 people confirmed dead in plane crash carrying Brazilian football team

76 people including Brazilian footballers have been confirmed dead in the passenger plane that crashed early this morning (Nigerian time). The plane was carrying 81 people including Brazilian international footballers, (Chapecoensea football club), their technical team, media personel and others and were on their way from Bolivia to Columbia for a football match when it crashed. Five people are said to have survived.

Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, Tunde Fowler, says in the near future, Nigerians applying for new passports at Immigration offices, will have to present their tax clearance papers before they would be issued passport. Man rapes and kills 8 year old girl who was waiting for a bus to take her to church

Ramey, has been arrested for the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Sabrina Stauffenberg, who was snatched from her front porch as she waited for a ride to church.
