Mexican woman strangles pregnant mother to death, slices her belly to steal unborn child

A woman identified as Cinthia Fatima in Mexico has allegedly cut open a heavily pregnant woman’s belly in a bid to steal the baby.

Cinthia was arrested by policemen, alongside her husband Omar Erique, after the decomposing body of Jessica Gabriela was found in their house in Mexican state of Tamaulipas.

According to reports, Jessica had gone to meet Cinthia in her residence, after they met on social media. A local media reported that Cinthia successfully lured Jessica to her house on the pretense of selling her baby clothes.

Jessica’s family raised alarm about the 20-year-old’s whereabouts after waiting endlessly for her return and her decomposing body was found in Cinthia’s home few days after she was reported missing.

Reports suggested that the deceased had been strangled to death.  Authorities had been alerted to the possible link after a woman claiming to be Cinthia’s sister had turned up at a hospital with a dead baby. The woman reportedly told doctors that her sister had had a still-birth at home. However, local media are reporting that Cinthia had lost her own child months earlier but had not told her husband.

She allegedly contacted several pregnant women on social media with the aim of killing them and stealing their unborn children. Cinthia, according to reports, had hoped she would convince her husband she had not lost her own child months earlier.
