Lagos Govt to prosecute cases of stigmatization against treated Ebola victims

Lagos State Government has said it will prosecute any person, group or organization that stigmatizes a patient who has been treated of Ebola and certified free from the virus

Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, said at a press conference yesterday, that the state Ministry of Justice has been notified to pick up any case of stigmatization, adding that stigmatization can make some persons believed to have contracted the disease not to come forward for treatment.
"Stigmatization may further make contacts and suspects to go underground. This may bring about the reversal of the gains we have already made; because such contacts and suspects may not come out and if they don’t come out, they jeopardize the life of those they come in contact with, including their families. We want to emphasize that the Ministry of Justice will take up any case of stigmatization. Anybody, either a discharged patient or a contact being followed up, who feels any form of stigmatization, should petition the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney-General and we will take it up from there." he said.

Ray Rice's wife speaks following the release of the elevator video

A day after a video showing how her husband punched, knocked her out & dragged her from an elevator was released, (read here) Janay Rice took to instagram to address the issue.

Her husband, former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, did not only lose his job after the video was released, there's a petition to ban him from NFL and possibly arrest him.

Janay talks about how the release of the video has practically ruined their lives.
I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media and unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. This is our life! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow and show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

Secretary to the Borno Govt say Boko Haram has occupied part of the state

Speaking to newsmen yesterday September 7th in Borno state, the SSG said activities of the sect members have paralyzed most economy, social, political and government activities in the state.
"At this very moment, most parts of Borno state are being occupied by Boko Haram insurgents. Government presence and administration is minimal or non-existent across many parts of the state, with economic, commercial and social services totally subdued. Schools and clinics remain closed. Most settlements in the affected areas in the state have either been deserted or access to them practically impossible, thus majority of the political stakeholders cannot, in real fact, reach their constituencies. So, the threat of insecurity affects everybody irrespective of political differences."
