Boko Haram kill 32 in Borno State, kidnap scores

Suspected members of Boko Haram killed 32 people and kidnapped many others in an attack on Gumsuri village in Borno state on Sunday December 14th.
According to AFP, two Borno state officials who confirmed the attack said the villagers were still counting those abducted and that the figure could pass 100 and included women and children.
"After killing our youths, the insurgents have taken away our wives and daughters," said Mukhtar Buba, who fled Gumsuri to the Borno state capital Maiduguri.

Why I chose Yemi Osinbajo as running mate - Buhari

APC Presidential flag-bearer, Gen Muhammadu Buhari yesterday stated reasons why he chose Prof Yemi Osibajo as his running mate for next year's general election. Below is what he said;
"To assist me in this great task of securing Nigeria’s future, I have chosen a man of unimpeachable integrity, an excellent professional, a man of faith, a devoted family man and a role model to our fellow countrymen and women. He is a professor of law and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. An alumnus of the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics, he is a prodigious author who has to his credit several books on civil procedure in Nigerian superior courts.

Tinubu writes on turning down offer to be Gen. Buhari's running mate

Statement released by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding his withdrawal from consideration for the APC Vice- Presidential Position.
I am a Nigerian who loves his country and am hopeful about what it can become. I have seen and conducted myself as a patriot long before I thought of myself as a politician.  I shall always walk this line and no other.
After all the political calculations are made and the dust of competition has settled, it must be this nation and its people who  stand first and foremost.

'I suffered sexual abuse in high school and physical abuse in university' - Lola Omotayo

While addressing a group of young women at Kinabuti's Dare2Dream Master Class event which happened in Lagos recently, Peter Okoye's wife and mother of 2, Lola Omotayo revealed that she suffered sexual abuse by a priest when she was in secondary school and beaten black and blue by a boyfriend in the university. She said she never told anyone about the molestation because she didn't believe anyone would believe her
"I couldn’t tell anyone because everyone would blame me, so I carried on the guilt and bitterness with me for years. I was filled with hate and I became an angry person, I was rebellious, I didn’t want to listen to anybody…and because I wanted to be expelled from school to avoid seeing this person, I would do so many terrible things, everything around me was just so negative, I felt I wasn’t good enough."

54 soldiers sentences to death by firing squad for mutiny

54 soldiers including two Corporals, nine Lance Corporals and 49 Private soldiers attached to the 7 Division Nigerian Army in Maiduguri Borno state have been sentenced to death by firing squad for mutiny by a court marshal that sat in Abuja yesterday Wednesday December 17th. The soldiers were convicted on a a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy to commit mutiny.

According to the charge sheet, the soldiers conspired to commit mutiny against their superior at the 7 Division on August 4 at the Mulai Primary School camp, opposite AIT Maiduguri, Borno state.

Ngozi Nwosu reportedly escapes robbery attack

Veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu escaped being robbed by some hoodlums who attacked her house on Monday Dec 15. She's been telling everyone who cares to listen how God spared her life.

Armed robbers reportedly stormed the house she lives in Lagos, molested her neighbours and made away with their properties.

Ngozi Nwosu revealed that she was already waiting for her turn to be attacked by the armed robbers, but they didn't come to her apartment. She said she was not only shocked but also fell down on her knees to thank God for his mercies and protection for sparing her.

Tompolo purchased war ships on behalf of NIMASA - DG

Last week, we all heard that ex-militant, Government Tompolo, bought 6 warships through his company, Global West Vessel Specialist Ltd. Now the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Patrick Akpobolokemi, says the warships were bought on behalf of the of the maritime body, NIMASA.

Akpobolokemi said this while addressing journalists yesterday December 16th. He said the warships were purchased for the Navy who use them to police Nigeria's territorial waters...

Mrs Kazi, the principal of Army Public School and College in Peshawar which was attacked by Taliban militants yesterday Dec. 16th was set on fire by jihadists who made her students watch her burn to death. The principal was reportedly targeted because she was married to retired army colonel

Another terrorist reportedly went into another classroom which had 60 students in it and blew himself up, killing most of the students. So far, 132 children have been confirmed dead in the massacre.

The insurgents were said to have had inside information before carrying out the well planned attack and there are people who believe the brutal attack was in revenge of Malala winning the Noble Prize while some say the school was attacked because the students aspired to be soldiers. APC Presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has chosen erudite scholar, former Attorney General of Lagos state, and Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Prof. Yemi Osibajo as his running mate for next year's general election.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN and Senior Partner in the Law firm of Simmons Cooper Partners. Yemi Osibanjo is a professor of law and was the head of department of Public Law at the University of Lagos (1997-1999).

The National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun says the party's presidential flag bearer, Gen. Buhammadu Buhari rtd will make his running mate known tomorrow December 17th
"I have a feeling that he (Muhammadu Buhari) will speak to you tomorrow on who his running mate will be. The party has consulted with the candidate and we have reached some agreement and he will address you tomorrow,” Chief Oyegun told newsmen today.
According to INEC election guidelines, the APC has till Thursday December 18th to announce its Presidential and vice presidential candidates. Some folks don't want it to be Bola Tinubu...

Pakistani military has ended today's early morning siege by Islamic terror group, the Taliban, on a military run school in Peshawar, a Northwestern city in Pakistan. 126 people, including 84 children have been confirmed dead.
