Ruqayyah said the incident left her traumatized especially as she had tried avoiding meeting with the alleged abuser for a long time because she wasn't "settled" about him. After three years of chatting on Twitter, she finally agreed to meet him but he jumped on her and would have raped her had she not succeeded in fighting him off after so much struggle.

A South African court has increased Olympic athlete, Oscar Pistorius's jail sentence for killing his girlfriend to 13 years and five months.

Prosecutors had argued that the six-year term for murdering Reeva Steenkamp was too short. The Supreme Court of Appeal ruled his sentence be increased to 15 years, less time already served.

Emmerson Mnangagwa sworn in as President of Zimbabwe

Emmerson Mnangagwa has been sworn in as Zimbabwe's president in a ceremony this morning at a packed stadium in the country's capital, Harare.

Brazilian footballer, Robinho, has reportedly been sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of sexual assault. Reports in Italy claim that the former Manchester City and Real Madrid star, along with five others, was implicated in an attack on an Albanian girl in a Milan nightclub in January 2013.

The incident, which the player has repeatedly denied his involvement in, occurred when the 33-year-old was at AC Milan following his departure from the Etihad in 2010, Sportsmail reported.
