Chief Newton Agbofodo, the embattled community head of Ekpan, Uvwie Council Area of Delta State, has been sentenced to death. He's one of the highest ranking chiefs of Uvwie Kingdom. He was arrested on June 17, 2016, and was later arraigned in court for crimes bordering on murder.

He was sentenced by the Delta State High Court 4, in Asaba, after being found guilty of all four count charges preferred against him. He was sentenced to death by hanging.?.

The former Minister of Aviation doesn't agree that PDP National chairman, Uche Secondus should apologize to Nigerians. According to FFK, the apology was ill-conceived and unnecessary as the giant strides of former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, cannot be matched by the APC government. PDP dismisses FG's list of looters, challenges APC to name convicted members of PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the list of alleged "looters" published by the Federal Government as hollow and laughable. The party said the list is an extension of federal government media trial and challenged it to come up names of its members against whom the federal government had secured convictions.

The list put forward by the Federal Government as purported looters amounts to a cheap blackmail as none of those listed have been indicted or convicted by any court of competent jurisdiction or any panel of enquiry in our country.

The United States government is proposing to collect social media identities from nearly everyone who seeks US Visa, according to a new State Department filing.

The proposal which is a broad expansion of the information gathered from applicants for U.S. visas, if approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), would require most immigrant and non-immigrant visa applicants to list all social media identities they have used in the past five years.

Unknown gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Wednesday, March 28, shot dead the youth leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako West local government of Edo State, Samson Sedi.

Sedi, popularly known as Power Remain, was allegedly killed by armed robbers while attempting to rescue a female petrol station attendant at NNPC mega in Jattu, Etsako West Local Government Area, who was being robbed on Wednesday in Jattu.

A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband while he was fast asleep following an accusation of infidelity. The woman was said to have stabbed her husband to death in his sleep for having a baby with another woman.

According to reports, the incident reportedly happened in Gabon. The deceased who is reported to be a sergeant in the Gabonese army died immediately after the knife attack by his jealous wife in their room. He wasn’t even taken to the hospital.

Sources close to the Terminator actor said he went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Thursday to have a scheduled catheter valve replacement. The former governor of California developed complications during the risky procedure, leading to an emergency open-heart surgery that reportedly lasted several hours.

One time deputy senate president, Ibrahim Mantu, has confessed to helping his party, PDP, rig elections in the past. Mantu made his confession when he appeared as a guest on Channels Television.

During the interview, Mantu said he has mentioned he helped the party rig elections before. When asked to elaborate, he said he offered bribe to electoral officials and security agents during elections.

Today, UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) finally concluded a 15-year mission in the one-time war-torn country, describing its operations as a success.

The UN said the peacekeepers were departing a “stable and grateful Liberia” as peacekeeping mission in the country formally ceased operations on Friday after aiding Liberia’s transition from ravaging civil war to a hopeful era of peace.

Richard Phillips, a 71-year-old Detroit man has been released from prison after spending over 45 years in custody.

Phillips had been wrongfully accused of being involved in a fatal shooting in 1971. A judge granted the prosecutor’s request to permanently drop the case against Phillips, whose conviction was erased last year.

Special Fraud Unit arrests 'fake' Benin prince who defrauded former lawmaker of $1.5m

Police detectives attached to the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Milverton, Lagos State, have arrested some men, who posed as international businessmen, members of House of Representatives and members of Benin Kingdom’s royal family to defraud a former lawmaker of $1.5 million.

According to reports, Investigation of the suspects started on July 28, 2017 with a crack team of detectives going to Murtala International Airport, Lagos State, to arrest the syndicate’s leader identified as Franklin Osiemwonyi Izekor, 45, aka Prince Joshua Akenzua.
