The Lagos State Government will formally welcome President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, May 23, 2016 on a two-day working visit to the State. It will be President Buhari's first official visit to the state since he assumed office about a year ago.

Uju Stella who is allegedly pregnant for Burna Boy, has reacted to comments made by his mother that they don’t have time for her. In an interview with Punch today, Burna Boy's mum was quoted to have said it is not a criminal offence for a lady to be pregnant for any guy, that if a girl claims she is pregnant for somebody and the person refuses to accept it, she is meant to look for his family instead of taking it to the public.

Burna Boy's mum also said her son is yet to say anything about the issue and they are only focusing on his music right now and don't know anything about any pregnancy, that girls always come up with pregnancy claims. National Leader of APC, Bola Tinubu has described as a monumental fraud the SURE-P scheme operated by the Jonathan administration. SURE-P is the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program established by the immediate past government to re-invest the Federal Government savings from fuel subsidy removal on critical infrastructure projects and social safety net programmes with direct impact on the citizens of Nigeria.

The second girl, Serah Luka, who was rescued by the Nigeria Military yesterday, is not one of the 218 students of the Government Girls College Chibok who were abducted by Boko Haram members on April 14th 2014, the Associated Press reports. Army spokesman Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman in a statement he released yesterday announcing her rescue, said Sarah is number 157 on the list of 218 missing Chibok school girls However, this seem not to be correct as a Chibok community leader Pogu Bitrus told The Associated Press that Number 157 on their list had a different name.

PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh, yesterday filed an application before a Federal High Court, Abuja asking for permission to travel to the United Kingdom for five weeks to seek medical treatment.

Soldiers reportedly found a second abducted girl, Serah Luka, during a rescue operation last night. There are reports that she is one of the abducted Chibok girls. Army spokesman Col. Usman Sani Kukasheka said Luka is believed to be the daughter of Pastor Luka, who is one of the parents of the missing Chibok girls. He said that the girl is believed to be number 157 on the list of the 219 missing Chibok girls. He said in a statement:

Buhari said this while speaking at the state house where he received the rescued Chibok girl, Amina Nkeki and her four month old daughter which was fathered by a Boko Haram commander while she was in the sects captivity.

The trial of the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh, has stalled after he repeatedly threw up at the Federal High Court in Abuja today May 19th.

Counsel to Olisa Metuh, Etiaba Etiaba, told the court today that Metuh became ill last night and was rushed to the hospital by his brother-in-law, Andy Aghaji. At the hospital, they were told the doctors and nurses were on strike. He however met a doctor who prescribed some drugs for him and told him to return today for another medication by 11am.
