After 25 years of being confined to her home, the world's heaviest woman was lifted out for life saving surgery. Eman Ahmed was lifted out of her bed by crane and put on a cargo plane for the journey from her Eygpt home to India. A wall of her room had to be brought down to get the crane into the house.

For 36-year-old Akinwale, a young man who had just acquired a National Certificate of Education in an Abeokuta prison, the journey to incarceration began in 2006, when he was convicted for armed robbery. But he claimed he was not a robber and will never be one. However, he said for the alleged armed robbery, he spent 10 years and six months in the prison, before he got amnesty and was released last November.

Akinwale (surname withheld) while in prison, became a student at the old Abeokuta Prison, Ibara, Ogun State, of the study centre of the Yewa Central College of Education.

Neighbours of 37-year-old Chioma Ochemba, a commercial sex worker in Ayobo area of Lagos, took away her daughter, a seven-year-old girl as she threatened to kill the girl on Monday. Ochemba, an Imo State indigene, shocked her neighbours after she smashed a wood on the girl’s head, inflicting an injury that covered the child in blood, after accusing her of losing a N100 slippers she had bought for her the previous day.

Dr Nancy Oghenetega Appih, the first child of Chief Efe Appih, the Chairman of Delta State branch of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers ( NIESV) was laid to rest on February, 6th, at the Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, Effurun, Delta State.
Born July 6, 1992, Dr. Appih graduated from the prestigious Ivana-- Frankivsk National Medical University, Ukraine. Upon her return to Nigeria, she did her House Job in Zaria, Kaduna State. She fell sick shortly after her return to Warri and never recovered. Tega passed away on January 31, 2017.

13-year-old Indian boy suffers from a mysterious medical condition that causes him to cry blood, earning him the nickname 'stigmata boy'. Akhileshi Raghuvanshi began to bleed from his eyes, ears, mouth, hands, legs and hairline for no apparent reason at the age of 10. The bleeding leaves the teenager extremely exhausted and with severe migraines.

On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, the present administration of President Akufo Addo said over 200 official cars were missing from the garage in the government flagstaff House.
According to the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arthin, he said the missing state cars is forcing President Akufo to drive his own private vehicle for official duties (Read here). In a statement released Thursday, February 9, 2017, the former deputy chief of staff, Johnny Osei Kofi denied the report, saying the previous administration led by John Mahama left behind a total of 641 vehicles.
