Nigerians will beg APC in 2019 to continue - APC chieftain Tony Momoh

Former Minister of Information and a chieftain of APC, Prince Tony Momoh, says Nigerians will beg APC to continue in power in 2019. Momoh said this in a recent interview with The Sun. President Buhari meets Jonathan over Niger Delta Avengers, refutes plans to arrest him

Pres. Buhari and Former President Jonathan met at the state house in Abuja yesterday night June 2nd, to discuss the increasing activities of Niger Delta Avengers and other militants in the Niger Delta region.

According to Sahara Reporters, the meeting started at about 9pm at the president's private home. President Buhari in the meeting reportedly told Jonathan that there were no plans to arrest him or his wife Patience. The meeting is said to have been brokered by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Femi Fani-Kayode said yesterday that he has met all his bail conditions, that the EFCC should release him or charge him to court. A statement signed yesterday by his media assistant, Jude Ndukwe reads;

This is to refute the false information being peddled by a section of the media that former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who has remained illegally detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since May 9, 2016, has not met his bail conditions as set by EFCC. Chief Fani-Kayode has since fulfilled the conditions for his bail but rather than take the honourable path of releasing him pending any charge brought against him, the anti-graft agency moved him from Abuja to Lagos where they obtained a questionable warrant to further detain him illegally for another three weeks.

FG publishes details of recovered assets, withholds names of looters

The Nigerian government through the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed today Saturday June 4th partially released list of funds recovered from corrupt former government officials as part of the government's war against corruption. Boxing legend, Muhammad Ali, 74 who was rushed to a hospital outside Phoenix, Arizona and reportedly on life support after he was found 'barely breathing' at his home on Thursday has died.

Ali was surrounded by his family who rushed to be at his bedside on Friday after doctors warned his condition was 'rapidly deteriorating', Radar Online reported.

Ali was taken to hospital on Thursday with an 'unshakeable cough' which was complicated by his Parkinson's disease. May his soul rest in peace...Amen!

The Federal Government has appealed to banks and other companies to stop retrenchment of their staff in this period. This appeal is coming 24 hours after a commercial bank laid of 1040 of its staff. The management of Ecobank Nigeria has fired 1040 of its staff. A source in the bank says the job cut was initially pegged at 1400 but it was reviewed down to 1040. Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, today announced the scrapping of post UTME examinations organized by various Universities for prospective students who partake in JAMB examinations.

Speaking at the opening of the 2016 Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Universities, Polytechnics and other higher institutions in Nigeria, Adamu said the Federal government had confidence in the examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), adding that there was no need for other examination to be conducted by universities after JAMB.

Minister of Transport and former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, today, said he did everything possible as the governor of Rivers state in the last administration, including fasting and prayer, to prevail on the former President Goodluck Jonathan to implement the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Report, that was released by the UN to give remedial direction to the cleanup exercise of Ogoni land.

26-year-old Jamila Musa from Edo State who was on Sunday, May 30, attacked with acid in her home has accused her boyfriend's wife for her travails, the Nation, reports.

According to Jamila, who works with Flour Mills, Nigeria, about 10pm, she heard a familiar voice at her door, saying he had a message from her boyfriend. The victim said she recognised the voice as that of the wife’s brother and that was why she opened the door.
