Senators pay President Buhari condolence visit (Photos)

President Buhari today received a delegation of Senators on a condolence visit to the family of Late Senator Mustapha Bukar. The senator who represented Katsina North Senatorial District in the senate died on April 4th.

President Buhari is from Katsina North senatorial district. He traveled to Daura yesterday to pay the family of the deceased a condolence visit.

6 year old Blue Ivy Carter apparently has a personal stylist. His name is Manuel A. Mendez and he works at Beyonce's management company, Parkwood Entertainment.

His job is to pick statement pieces for Blue Ivy for special occasions, including her white pantsuit for the Grammys (pictured above) the Wearable Art Gala held last month, and her dress in the Family Feud video.

A young British snowboarder fell head-first into a snow drit in the French Alps and had been buried for about 30 minutes before he was discovered. By the time the 25-year-old man was found, he had already suffocated.

The man, who was working a season in the resort of Meribel, was found in an off-piste area of the Allues area of the mountain, French authorities have said. It is believed he was unable to release himself from his board.

Orji Uzor Kalu, the former Governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu, has expressed confidence that President Buhari will win the 2019 presidential election if he re-contests despite the series of attacks from former President Olusegun Obasanjo and others.

Kalu said this in an interview with journalists in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Friday, after his peace and advocacy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

A 40-year-old commercial bus driver has been accused of defiling a 7-year-old girl, who he calls 'my wife' and damaging her bladder which sees her now urinating constantly on herself. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday at a compound in Ilupeju PalmGroove area, Lagos State.

New Telegraph reported that the victim was always visiting the suspect, Baba Michael who lives with his uncle to play with his four-month-old son. But unknown to her mother, the little girl was sexually violated all that time she went visiting.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has urged the Federal Government to include names of present and previous political office-holders, irrespective of political parties, who looted public funds, in the looters’ list.

The governor made the call at the inauguration of Episcopal House, Chapel of Resurrection Conference Hall and other residential blocks of the Anglican Communion, on Friday in Abuja.

The Kwara state police command today released its official statement on the Thursday March 5th bank robbery operation. The command says 17 persons including 9) policemen/women. Eight (8) civilians were killed. Seven suspects have been arrested in connection with the robbery attack.

The statement in part reads ''Seventeen (17) persons comprising nine (9) policemen/women. Eight (8) civilians, all killed within the police station and the street/banks. Five Banks namely Union, Eco, Gtb, First, Zenith banks and one Microfinance bank, Ibolo micro finance bank, were attacked.

A 25- year-old father of five, Tunde Vincent has been arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl at Madalla village in Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly ambushed the girl on her way home from an errand, dragged her into an uncompleted building and raped her. Speaking to journalists on Thursday, April 5, the suspect said;

The Kwara state government has announced a N5 million reward for anyone with information on the masterminds of the Thursday April 5th Offa bank robbery attack. 17 persons including 6 police officers were killed.

The robbers, reportedly 40 in number, invaded the town, attacked the police station, killed police men and women and carted aways arms and ammunition. Thereafter they stormed 5 commercial banks and a microfinance bank and carted away millions of Naira.

Peter Nielsen, has been arrested in connection with the murder of his Nigerian wife and musician, Ali Zainab 'Alizee', and their four-year-old daughter.

He has been the number one suspect since news of Alizee's death broke. Mother and daughter were murdered in the family’s residence at Ocean Parade, Banana Island, in the early hours of Thursday.

10 year old Wuese Yaku, along with her two elder brothers were attacked by Fulani herdsmen at Mbanev, Imbesev, Yaav ward of Turan in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to Apiah Ephraims, the Senior Special Assistant on Media at Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) the herdsmen hacked the siblings with machete and threw them into a well.

Maj. Gen. Marcus Hicks, the Commander of the United States’ Special Operations Command Africa has described Boko Haram as the most lethal terror organisation in the world despite claims by the federal government that the extremist group had been significantly degraded and technically defeated.

The issue of Boko Haram’s power came up at a press briefing held in the US during the week on anti-terror efforts of the US government and made available to Thisday by the US embassy.

Conor McGregor charged with three counts of assault

Conor McGregor has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief.
The Irishman turned himself in to police following a backstage disturbance at the UFC 223 media day in New York.

Police had wanted to question McGregor after footage emerged online appearing to show him throw a "hand truck" at a bus taking rival fighters away from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Man keeps mother's corpse for 3 years just to collect her pension using her thumb impression

In a shocking case from Kolkata, a 43-year-old man has been arrested for reportedly keeping the corpse of his dead mother in a deep freezer for almost three years to collect her pension every month using her thumb impression. The incident came to light after the mutilated body of the woman was found at his home by Kolkata Police on Thursday.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Behala) Nilanjan Biswas said, “Bina Mazumdar’s body was stored in a refrigerator since 2015”.

And before you say na man, no she's a woman.

A young woman has died while giving birth to a baby on the floor in a dilapidated class room at Bakassi IDP camp last week.

The young woman identified as Enobong Asuquo died after childbirth following retained placenta and post partum haemorrhage, on March 27, at Akwa Ikot Eyo Internally Displaced Camp of Bakassi Returnees at Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has dismissed speculations that President Buhari will bypass the National Assembly to give full approval for the release of $1 billion for arms purchase.

One Wednesday, President Buhari gave the approval of the fund for the purchase of arms for the military. PDP in a statement released by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbodiyan, called on the National Assembly to sanction President Buhari for giving approval for the release of the money without the permission of the lawmakers.

Jay-Z has spoken out about his feelings after his mother told him for the first time that she is a lesbian. In an interview with veteran host, David Letterman on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Jay Z said he had known prior to the conversation that his mother Gloria Carter was a lesbian but that was the first time he was having the conversation with his mother.

The 48-year-old rapper said: "For her to sit in front of me and tell me 'I think I love someone' – I mean, I really cried. That's a real story. I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free."

Benue Killings: Police recovers ten corpses in two communities

The Benue Police Command says it has recovered 10 corpses of villagers killed by suspected herders in Tse-Audu and Enger villages in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state last night Thursday April 5th.

In a statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Moses Yamu, the bodies were found by the mobile police contingent deployed to Naka, the capital of the local government council after the attack. The statement in part reads

The cause of death of Simon Shelton, who played Tinky Winky in the popular children's cartoon Teletubbies, has been revealed.

According to an inquest, Shelton died of hypothermia. He was also found with a "high concentration of alcohol" in his body when he froze to death at the age of 52 following a night out in Liverpool in January.

At least 26 people, including police men and bank customers, were killed by a gang of armed robbers who invaded commercial banks in Offa town on Thursday evening. Read previous post here.

Among the police men killed by the armed robbers was a man identified as Pelemo, who was expected to retire in a few months and a pregnant police woman.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has filed a N1.5 billion lawsuit against the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, for defamation of character. The lawsuit is to challenge the inclusion of Secondus's name in the looters list released by the Minister.

In the first list released on March 30th, Secondus was alleged to have looted the nation’s treasury by receiving N200million from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Namadi Sambo.
