Mrs Folorunsho Alakija used to be a designer back in the day, don't know if she still is. I modeled for her Rose of Sharon label for many years and she was such an incredibly pleasant woman to work with. Yes, I'm claiming...haha!

Anyway, she went into the oil business many years back; she has an oil bloc that pulls in N157 million a day. Yes, you read right! She is the Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil and Gas limited and has emerged the richest woman in Africa according to Forbes November 2012 edition, with a net worth of $600million, which is about N94 billion.

The 61 year old former FADAN president is married and has four boys.

Chris Brown deletes Twitter account after battle with female writer

After an epic Twitter fight with comedy writer, Jenny Johnson, Chris Brown two days ago deleted his Twitter page.

It all started after Chris Brown Tweeted a picture of himself with the caption "I look old as f**k! I'm only 23...", Jenny replied to Chris' Tweet with, 

"I know! Being a worthless piece of s**t can really age a person."

Cynthia Osokogu’s murder: court releases pharmacists

The two pharmacists arrested in connection with the July 22nd murder of Cynthia Osokogu have been released unconditionally by a court in Lagos. Maduakor Chukwunonso and Orji Osita (pictured above) who are pharmacists at Oxpharm Pharmacy where the drugs used in sedating Cynthia was bought, were released based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution.

The Lagos High court ruled that “there was no evidence where the pharmacists had an agreement with the first and second defendants to kill the late Ms Osokogu."

Nigerian lady sentenced to 80 years in prison over deaths of toddlers in her care

 24 year old Nigerian/American woman, Jessica Tata, was sentenced to 80 years in prison on Monday November 20th after being found guilty of the death of one of four children killed in a fire at her home day care in Houston.

16-month-old Elias Castillo and three other toddlers died after Tata left them unsupervised at her home while she went to a nearby store. Prosecutors say she left a pan of oil cooking atop a stovetop burner and that this ignited the February 2011 blaze. There were 7 children when the fire started, four died, three survived.

Tata still faces three more counts of felony murder in relation to the other children who died, and three counts of abandoning a child and two counts of reckless injury to a child in relation to three who were hurt. So she will be getting more years added to the 80 as other cases come up.

Over N5trillion in government funds have been stolen through fraud, embezzlement and theft since President Goodluck Jonathan assumed office on May 6, 2010, a SUNDAY PUNCH investigation has found.

Boko Haram Attacks SARS Police HQ, Abuja

Some terrorists, suspected to be members of Boko Haram attacked the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command in Abuja Monday.
Sources said they gained access to the place through the hill overlooking the building, shooting sporadically and released the prisoners and ran away.
No official statement has been issued by the police authorities yet as the  whole area has been barricaded by stern looking security personnel.

BRT Bus Full Of Passengers Falls Into Lagos Lagoon From 3rd Mainland Bridge

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has confirmed, that a BRT bus conveying passengers across the Third Mainland Bridge, has fallen off into the Lagoon.

This information was relayed via its Twitter account. It posted: “A fully loaded BRT bus fell off the 3rd mainland bridge into the Lagos lagoon. Rescue work in progress. Motorists be cautious. Details will be brought shortly
