Rihanna accompanied her man Chris Brown to his court hearing yesterday Wednesday February 6th. Chris Brown's ongoing probation case stems from assaulting Rihanna in 2009. Yesterday was his progress report hearing, where he faced allegations that he lied about completing his community service. Rihanna blew Chris a kiss before the proceedings got underway and left arm in arm with him after the hearing.

Controversy trails expulsion of 28 Redeemers University students

The expulsion of 28 students by Redeemer University for allegedly failing drug tests has sparked a big row.  The tests were conducted last November for 42 students, who were asked to go for “routine tests”.

After resumption this year, some of them were told that they “tested positive” and last Friday, some of those who “tested positive” got expulsion letters; others got theirs on Monday.

Pastor Chris Okotie ban journalist from attending his church over story

The journalist is Biodun Kupoluyi, the publisher of E24/7 Magazine. He is alleging that the senior pastor of Household of God, Chris Okotie, has barred him from attending his church after he wrote a story alleging that Rev Okotie is dating an undergraduate named Miss Naomi Hoffman. (See the story above) Biodun is an off/on member of Household of God.

He granted an interview to Encomium magazine this week, telling his side of the story. See it below...

I received the news from a man claiming he's representing the church that he has been directed by the pastor of the church and members of Household of God church that I should not come and worship with them. His reason, he said, was premised on E24-7 magazine's expose - pastor Chris finds new love, says I will not get married again, but may opt for surrogacy soon. I found it shocking that a day after the publication hit the streets, his media department sent a release out and it confirmed our story. He actually made those statements and we reported it. I think he did not think anybody could have known about his romance with the girl, Naomi. He was caught off guard..but as a journalist, I owe our teeming readers that responsibility. I feel fulfilled, though I will miss his theatrics, his stage performances and verbosity

80 years and counting: The longest married couple

John (101) and Ann Betar (97) of Fairfield, Connecticut, tied the knot on Nov. 25, 1932. They've been happily married for over 80 years now. Together they have five children, 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. They have been named the longest married couple in the U.S.

John and Ann Betar told ABC News that they considered themselves "blessed."

"We are very fortunate. It can be repeated and repeated," Ann, 97, said "It is unconditional love and understanding. We have had that. We consider it a blessing."

They said their secret to so many happy years together is simple: compromise and don't hold a grudge.

10 governors battle ready to sack PDP in 2015

10 governors from four different political parties - ACN, APGA, CPC, ANPP met in Lagos yesterday Tuesday 5th February and unanimously endorsed merger plans to unseat the PDP in 2015.

The governors who attended the meeting in Lagos are: Babatunde Fashola (ACN, Lagos), Ibikunle Amosun (ACN, Ogun), Kayode Fayemi (ACN, Ekiti), Abiola Ajumobi (ACN, Oyo), Rauf Aregbesola (ACN, Osun) Rochas Okorocha (APGA, Imo), Umaru Tanko Almakura (CPC, Nasarawa), Abdulaziz Yari (ANPP, Zamfara). Kashim Shettima of Borno and Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe were represented by Senator Dejere Alkali.

The governors said the reason for the alliance to unseat the PDP is to fix Nigeria:

“We are concerned about the state of the nation and in the interest of our people we deliberated on what can be done to rescue our country. As governors, we fully endorse the merger initiatives already commenced by our various political parties. Nigeria is greater than all of us and we have a duty to make it work for our people and the future.”

Can they do it? Unseat PDP in 2015?

Kim K unborn baby may be at risk over divorce stress

Kim Kardashian's doctor thinks Kim's unborn baby may be at risk, because of the stress Kris Humphries is causing by dragging out their divorce .

Several days ago Kim called her doctor in the middle of the night to come to the house because she was having severe pains.  The doctor examined her, but then warned he believed the problems were largely stress-related.

Sources say ... the only significant stress in her life right now is the divorce.  And hours before her meeting Tuesday with her lawyer, disso-queen Laura Wasser, Kim's pains returned in full force.

The doctor warned Kim she needs to handle the stress or else there could be "long-term effects."  The doctor did not elaborate, but we're told Kim is freaked out her baby may be at risk.

Man tattoos name across face of woman he just met only 24hrs earlier

A tattooist has inked his name across his girlfriend's face less than 24 hours after they first met.

Lesya Toumaniantz from Saransk, Russia, allowed Rouslan Toumaniantz to sign 'Ruslan' over her face in giant Gothic script on the day they met. The pair - who'd met on an online chat room - say they quickly fell 'head over heels in love' and soon after met in Moscow, Russia, where they decided to get married.   

'It's a symbol of our eternal devotion. I'd like him to tattoo every inch of my body," she said.

As January is cervical cancer month and World Cancer Day is February the 4th, the people at Brown Eyez wanted to use the power of radio and the influence of its female presenters to raise awareness of cervical cancer in a fun creative way.

The participating on air personalities (OAPs) from the radio stations decided to speak through a photo shoot with an emphasis on using the colour green which represents cervical cancer. 

Majek Fashek chained at his home over deteriorating mental health

Majek Fashek is suffering from Schizophrenia according to the doctors taking care of him and his condition is getting really bad. Since he disappeared over the holidays and reappeared in January, he has been uncontrollable. People close to him said he overdid the drugs this time around and his mental illness has deteriorated seriously. People around his neighborhood in Gowon Estate Ipaja now avoid him like a plague. He walks around talking to himself and sometimes sits at a bus stop around his area playing his guitar while little kids make fun of him. To stop him from roaming around, and maybe hurting himself, sometimes people who care for him chain him at his Ipaja home, especially when he gets really out of control.

Some people are saying it's a spiritual problem. Whatever it is, hope he gets serious help before it's too late. Such a sorry situation.
