Rihanna’s boyfriend Chris Brown finally spoke for the first time about their recent reconciliation. In a searingly honest interview with the Mirror, he apologised for his actions in 2009, when he physically attacked Rihanna, leaving her shocked and bruised.

2 people arrested over acid attack on Naomi Oni

UK police revealed today that a 21 year old woman and a 28 year old man have been arrested in connection with the acid attack on Naomi Oni...a few days after they said they suspected she poured the liquid on herself.

Naomi Oni was left partially blind after she was attacked on her way from work on December 30th 2012 by a woman she said was wearing an Islamic niqab.

UK top Catholic cleric resigns amid allegations of inappropriate behavior

74 year old Cardinal Keith O'Brien, UK's most senior Roman Catholic cleric, resigned his position as the Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh today Monday February 25th after being accused of 'inappropriate conduct' towards fellow priests.

Three priests and a former priest reported him to the Vatican over allegations of inappropriate behaviour stretching back 30 years. One of the priests alleged that the cardinal developed an inappropriate relationship with him, resulting in a need for long-term psychological counseling. Another one claimed O'Brien made an inappropriate approach after night prayers. The four demanded O'Brien's immediate resignation.

O'Brien denied the allegations and had been expected to continue in his post as archbishop until mid-March, when he was due to retire at age 75 but he resigned today.

"I have valued the opportunity of serving the people of Scotland and overseas in various ways since becoming a priest," Cardinal O'Brien said in a statement. "Looking back over my years of ministry, for any good I have been able to do, I thank God. For any failures, I apologise to all whom I have offended." 

The Vatican is to investigate the allegations.

Students and soldiers clash at Nasarawa State University, Keffi

Students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, this morning clashed with soldiers after they protested over not having water for many days on campus. Soldiers were called into the school to restore sanity but things went crazy. They clashed with the students and I hear they may have killed one of them.

The soldiers allegedly went to the off campus hostels to harrass and beat up students. The school has been closed down indefinitely as a result of this. The Governor of Nasarawa state, Tanko Almakura, have since advised all students of the school to leave the school premises with immidiate effect till further notice. See more photos after the cut...

A 34-year old man, Kehinde Paul Layode, has been arraigned before a family court in Ikeja for allegedly defiling a three-year old girl (name withheld).

The incident, which happened at 3/5, John Crescent, Igando, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, was reported at the Igando Police Station.

The accused, if found guilty, risks spending a minimum of five years in jail under the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.

Five years in jail for raping a 3 year old child? I think rapist should spend the rest of their lives locked up...

Chief Justus Esiri OON, was a loving husband, father, grand father, brother, uncle and friend. An Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), The Otun Amuludun of the Source in Ile-Ife Osun State, and Veteran Nollywood Actor.

He died in the late hours of the 19^th of February 2013. Chief Esiri, born on the 6th November 1942 hailed from Oria Abraka, Delta State. He was a strong believer in family values, and a great supporter of Nollywood.

Oscar Pistorius may have crushed his girlfriend skull with a cricket bat

Oscar Pistorius may have beaten his girlfriend with a cricket bat before shooting her, South African police believe.Detectives are reported to have recovered a bloodied bat from the Paralympic champion’s bedroom and to have established that model Reeva Steenkamp’s skull had been ‘crushed’.This and other evidence, a smashed bathroom door, a 9mm pistol, the peculiar pattern of wounds on the body and reports of a row earlier in the evening is said to have led them to believe the murder case against the sprinter is ‘rock solid’.
Miss Steenkamp, 29, was shot four times early on Thursday at Pistorius’s luxury home in a secure housing estate on the outskirts of Pretoria.

President Jonathan spent $1million of poverty alleviation fund on Beyonce and Jay Z

What President Goodluck Jonathan did as the Governor of Bayelsa is coming back to haunt him - 7 years later! Bayelsa state was one of the major sponsors of the Thisday Music Festival which held in 2006 and featured Beyonce and Jay Z. According to new reports, President Jonathan as the governor of the state then spent $1million on the music festival.

Did acid victim hurt herself on purpose?

You all remember the Nigerian girl that was left disfigured after acid was thrown in her face as she walked home on Sunday December 30th 2012? (read story HERE) Well, now the UK police are suggesting Naomi Oni may have thrown the burning liquid on herself. But for what purpose? Below is how the UK Daily Mail is reporting it...

Police are believed to have seized a computer belonging to a young woman who was badly scarred in an acid attack amid suspicions that she may have caused the injuries herself. But her family fear that detectives are not doing enough to catch the perpetrator of the attack and are focusing on a 'crazy' line of inquiry.

Naomi Oni, 20, was left with horrific injuries following the incident which happened as she left work at the end of last year and was in hospital for nearly a month receiving treatment.

Police are understood to have taken Miss Oni's laptop and are said to have discovered that she had searched the internet for websites about acid attacks before she received her injuries.

Oscar Pistorius's older brother also charged for the murder of a woman

Carl Pistorius (left), the older brother of the Blade Runner, accused of killing his girlfriend, is also facing a manslaughter charge. Carl is charged with culpable homicide over the accidental death of a woman in a car crash in 2010.

His lawyer Kenny Oldwage, who also represents Oscar Pistorius, confirmed the charges today. Carl Pistorius appeared in court just two days before his brother's bail hearing last week, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the BBC, police conducted tests on Carl Pistorius' blood at the time of the accident, and he was found not to have been drinking alcohol.

Carl was initially accused of reckless or negligent driving, but the matter was later provisionally withdrawn. However, the charges were reinstated after the victim's family said they believed it was more than an accident. Carl Pistorius' trial is set to begin at the end of March.

Meanwhile the police have told Reeva Steenkamp's family that Oscar crushed her skull with a cricket bat before shooting her dead. Grieving relatives who saw her body before Tuesday’s cremation in Port Elizabeth described horrific injuries from the cricket bat, and entry wounds from 9mm bullets fired by Pistorius. And he didn't kill her! *hiss*
