Nigerian Activist, Josephine Odumakin receives the 2013 Secretary of State’s International Woman of Courage Award

Dr. Josephine was among the recipients of the 2013 Woman of Courage Award in the United States. The Award was presented to her by U.S Secretary of State, John Kerry and First Lady Michelle Obama. Over the past twenty years, Dr. Josephine Odumakin has handled over 2,000 cases of violations of women’s rights, including cases of extra judicial practices committed by government security agencies against women. These cases have included violations of women’s rights including extra judicial killings of women by the police or their spouses, assault of women by law enforcement personnel for any pretext as well as deaths of children and women through negligence on the part of school or hospital authorities. 

Dr. Josephine Obiajulu Odumakin is definitely doing so well for herself thus making us as a Nation very proud of her.

The Governor of Akwa-Ibom state made headlines when he promised 2face & Annie Idibia a prado Jeep and footing the bill of a 30 man delegation to their March 23rd Dubai wedding.Speaking through his spokesperson , Bola Omisore he said:

“The governor made a promise, when the cars come, we will decide whether to accept them or not”. “We cannot take a decision on the basis of a promise that is yet to be fulfilled.”

On whether it is appropriate for the musician to accept the gift when the funds used in buying them could be used in solving some of the numerous developmental challenges in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Omisore said, “No comment”.

Justin Timberlake fires back at Kanye West "calls him dramatic"

Last month Kanye West fired shots at Jay Z and Justin Timberlake when he trashed their new single, Suit and Tie during a concert in London. Well, during his appearance on Saturday Night Live last Saturday Justin Timberlake fired back at Kanye with Jay Z standing right beside him.

During his performance of Suit and Tie Justin changed one of his lyrics from,

"Shit so sick got a hit and picked up a habit" to "My hit's so sick, it got rappers acting dramatic" and then Jay Z came out and did his verse.

Some of you don't want to believe that Kanye has been dumped. Hehe...

A suspect in India gang rape/murder commits suicide in his cell

Police said the suspect hanged himself around 5am this morning in his prison cell...but his lawyer and parents are claiming he was murdered.

"Ram did not kill himself. He had no reason to. He was murdered," his father said.

"This is not a suicide. He was kept in isolation, with at least four special guards posted outside his cell. We suspect foul play" his lawyer said

33 year old Ram Singh was the driver of the New Delhi bus on which a 23 year old student was gang raped and fatally beaten on December 16 2012. The woman later died from injuries sustained from the attack. Six suspects were arrested and if convicted, could face the death penalty. (Read the original story HERE)

Amazing:Pregnant mum has baby's face on her stomach

Pregnant British mum Karen McMartin was shocked to see the face of her baby on her pregnant belly. It looked like the baby was trying to break out of her tummy. Karen discovered the print on her tummy when she was just 25-weeks pregnant. Karen explained to The Sun how she discovered it.

“I was in the staff room on a break. We were actually having a laugh at my belly button sticking out and checking for baby movement. Then Karen who owns the salon came in and said, ‘Oh my God, I can see a face.’ She took a picture and we’ve been showing it to folk ever since.”
