Governor Chime's son, Nnamdi set to wed soon

Enugu State governor Sullivan Chime's son, Nnamdi, is getting ready to quit bachelorhood. He will get married his heartthrob Nneoma Atueyi next month, April 2013.

Their traditional wedding will hold on Friday April 12th at the bride's hometown of Nnewi, in Anambra State while their white wedding will hold on Saturday April 13th in Enugu. Congrats to them.

Lagos & Abuja placed among the top 4 most expensive cities in Africa

A recent ranking released by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister company of The Economist magazine on 25 African cities has ranked Lagos and Abuja among the top four cities in Africa with the highest cost of living.

The key results of the cost of living rankings per city reveals that Abuja is the second most expensive city in Africa with a total expenditure score of 107.4. Lagos comes fourth with 100.8 total expenditure. Ranking first on the list as Africa’s most expensive city is Luanda in Angola with a score of 131.8, while Addis Ababa came last with a score of 60.8.

In other rankings, Abuja emerged as the 12th city in terms of consumption of alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics, while Lagos took the 21st position among the 25 cities surveyed.

In terms of money spent on transportation, Lagos and Abuja emerged 15th and 22nd out of the 25 cities, scoring 107.5 and 91.7, respectively. Top on this list is Abidjan with 172.0 score spent on transportation, while Alexandra in Egypt came last with a score of 71.7.

NSCDC commandant suspended by his oga at the top?

Sources have it that Mr Obafaiye Shem, the Lagos Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), (aka My Oga At the Top) has been Suspended by the Internal Affair Ministry.

While the details of his suspension is still not clear as at the time of this post, but we are certain that it must be related to the embarrassing interview Mr Shem granted to Channels Television early in the Week.

Lynxxx denies alleged stabbing incident at Night club in V.I

I'm sure some of you have heard about the incident that Lynxxx stabbed a customer at N-tyce night club.Here is what happen.

Lynxxx, his manager and a few of his friends were involved in a scuffle at N-Tyce nite club last week Friday March 8th during a birthday gathering for singer, Praiz. But contrary to reports making the rounds that Lynxxx stabbed someone, no one was stabbed, this is according to eye witnesses present that night

Here's what led to the fight. Some UK dude called Pope who is in his late 40's sexually harassed and assaulted Lynxxx manager's cousin, a young lady called Nikki at the club that Friday night. Pope made aggressive advances towards Nikki according to eye witnesses and when she pushed him away from her, Pope allegedly slapped her on her forehead and asked the bouncers to remove her from the VIP section.

How Charly Boy's Cousin, Emeka Aseme was murdered

Charly Boy's cousin, Emeka Aseme, a business tycoon and a hotelier was forcefully taken away by gun wielding men during one of his visits to his 5-Star hotel in Oguta, Imo state on 24th February.See related story (Here) Aseme's family managed to contact the abductors who demanded N8m ransom, which the family paid but Emeka was not released to them. On the 9th of March, the men who took the hotelier contacted his younger brother and directed him to go to a community between Owerri and Oguta called Okwonji, to find him brother. Lil Wayne in critical condition after suffering multiple seizures

Update from TMZ

6:30 PM PT -- Sources at the hospital tell us Wayne is still in critical condition in the ICU ... but stabilizing. We're told the prognosis is uncertain.

Wayne is sleeping right now ... which is odd, because he just tweeted saying he's OK and thanking people for the prayers and love.

5:16 PM PT -- Wayne's mother is currently on a plane flying to Los Angeles -- and we're told all major decisions about Wayne's health (including the decision to discontinue life support) will not be made until she arrives.

Yesterday, this pygmy sperm whale was washed up on the beach in Lekki in Lagos and sadly, our people did not give one thought to conservation or ask themselves if it was an endangered specie. they took their knives to it and butchered it for a feast.

EFCC arrest 5 Yahoo boys in Enugu wth exotic cars & laptops

 

EFCC released a statement via their website saying they have arrested five suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu. The statement, released by the Acting Head, Media and Publicity, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were picked up from their hide out at No. 26 and 42, Chimaobi Uba Street, GRA, Enugu following an intelligence report. 

Part of the statement reads:

"The suspects, Uche Nwakor, 27; Ejikeme Oluchukwu, 30; Ifeanyi Ejikeme, 28; Nnamani Ikechukwu,30 and Ibe Kodili are alleged to be serial scammers who have defrauded several victims.

“Some of the items recovered from the suspects include Eight Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty Seven United States Dollars ( $8,227); Seventy Three Thousand Naira (N73,000.00); eight (8) exotic cars; nine (9) laptops; twenty one (21) mobile phones; two (2) internet routers; one (1) currency counter and one (1) Sony camera.

US Government condemns Jonathan's pardon for Alams and others

Meanwhile presidential spokesman Doyin Okupe has said the the Presidential Pardon granted the former Bayelsa governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, can be equated to the same pardon accorded late Emeka Ojukwu and Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

A source told Star Magazine that the rapper is 'practically begging' the title's editor, Anna Wintour, to feature his five-months'-pregnant girlfriend.But to date, his pleas have not worked.

Indeed it was previously reported that Ms Wintour said that Kim would grace the front of her magazine 'over her dead body.'

An insider said to Star that while Ms Wintour thinks Kayne is 'terrific', she declared Kim to be 'the worst thing since socks and sandals'.
