Wesley Snipes finally released from prison

After spending more than two years in Federal prison for tax evasion (he reported to prison on December 9, 2010), actor Wesley Snipes has been released. According to TMZ, Wesley was released from prison on April 2 and will remain on house arrest until July 19. Good news!

Michelle Obama accidentally describes herself as a 'busy single mum'

US First Lady, Michelle Obama raised eyebrows with her brief slip of the tongue yesterday Thursday April 4th when she described herself as a 'busy single mum' during an interview with a Vermont CBS station, the Flotus.

She caught her mistake immediately and explained: "You know, when you've got the husband who's president, it can feel a little single, but he's there,". She then described herself as 'busy working mom."

The First Lady was answering questions about the difficulties that working parents can have when they try to balance their office lives with their home lives. "Before coming to the White House, I was in that position," she confessed. "Working, driving kids to practice, not having enough time to shop or cook, not having the energy." The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office first got involved in the investigation in the early fall of 2012, when they received numerous complaints from victims as far away as California claiming that credit cards in their name made fraudulent retail purchases in Hudson County, officials said yesterday.

Using store video and physical surveillance, the detectives were able to identify several suspects, authorities state. Detectives then linked those suspects to hundreds of other accounts and millions of dollars in phony transactions.

Pregnant women who sleep on their backs risk still birth

Recent research has proven that pregnant women who sleep on their backs are at greater risk of having a stillbirth.

'Stillbirth conception' is when a woman gives birth to an infant that has died in the womb, after at least surviving the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.
It was observed in Ghana that pregnant women who slept on their backs were found to be five times more likely to have a still birth or a baby with low birth weight. They also claimed that this problem can be avoided by ensuring pregnant women change their sleeping positions. Simple right?

"Let me tell you that Wizkid wasn’t on the album. First of all, I want to say that what we like to call“Bad Belle People” because they think there may be bad news and when you don’t give them that news they start to create it because I guess bad news sells more than good news. So I want to say categorically that there was no twitter fight. People go on-line and use Photoshop to create my profile and say that I said this and then they go and create Wizkid’s profile and say he said this.

Taribo West lied, he was 40 when he said he was 28 - ex-club president says

Former Super Eagles defender, Taribo West, has been accused of lying about his age by one of his former club presidents. According to a report on Daily Mail, Taribo joined Serbian team Partizan Belgrade in 2002 after leaving Derby County and told club bosses he was 28. But now the former president of Partizan, Zarko Zecevic, has accused him of lying, saying the defender was actually 40.

"He joined us saying he was 28. We only later found out he was 40, but he was still playing well so I don’t regret having him on the team,' Zecevic said.

But according to the Croatian media, the former defender also lied when trying to join Croatia’s Rijeka club. At the age of 44, they said West told club doctors he was only 32.

It was only after an examination that the doctors raised suspicions with the club because West’s knees suggested he was older. He wasn’t signed to the team but later joined Plymouth and then Iranian side Paykan FC, where he ended his career at the age of 46 in 2008. Today his Wikipedia entry says he is 39.
