The traditional wedding of Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta to Salamat Mohammed held on Friday 12th April, while the Nikkai proper and reception held on Saturday the 13th in Ilorin, Kwara state.

Salamat is the daughter of Mohammed Shaaba Lafiagi, a former governor of Kwara state, and currently the senator representing Kwara North senatorial district.

Dino Melaye escapes assasination in Abuja

Former House of Reps member, Dino Melaye, yesterday evening escaped an assassination attempt on his life in Abuia.

He was attacked in Abuja City's Central Business District by unknown gunmen as he made his way home. His car was shot at but fortunately he wasn't hit. (His car pictured above).

The men who shot at the former lawmaker were driving in a Golf car.

Boston Marathon explosions kill 2; injury toll rising

2 dead, 20 injured after explosions at Boston Marathon today. Below is how CNN is reporting it...

Blasts near the finish line of the Boston Marathon killed two people and injured more than 20 others Monday, Boston police said.

The marathon itself, on its Facebook page, referred to the blasts as bombs. Authorities did not say immediately what caused the explosions.

Massachusetts General Hospital said it was treating 19 injured people; Tufts Medical Center reported that it was treating nine people. Combined, that brings the number of injured to at least 28. Police reported 22 people injured.

M.I picked as X Factor Africa judge. Toolz as presenter

Rapper M.I was picked as a judge of the singing reality TV show over the likes of 2face Idibia, Sammy Okposo, Dare Art Alade, Obi Asika, Don Jazzy, Bantu, eLDee, and Cobhams who were all approached and negotiated.

Beat FM On-Air-Personality Toolz was picked as the Glo X Factor presenter over Michelle Dede, Mo Abebe, Isio Wanogho, Matilda Obaseki, Ebuka Obi Uchendu and Femi Branch.

The other judge joining M.I is Ghanaian rapper, Reggie Rockstone. The last judge being talked to is the elegant stallion herself, Onyeka Onwenu...but nothing has been confirmed. Will keep you guys updated.

Female inmates at the Light of Hope Orphanage describe how the owner of the orphanage allegedly raped them repeatedly.  From the outside, the Light of Hope Orphanage in Akute area of Ogun State looks like every other orphange.

The facility which was founded in 1996 by Mr. Olatayo Atunde receives donations from multinational companies, non-governmental organisations, and other concerned members of the public. The orphanage, also has a nursery and primary school within the premises.

Naeto C, Lynxxx, Omawumi, Tiwa Savage, Flavor, MI, to be confirmed as new Glo ambassadors

Naeto C, Lynxxx, Omawumi, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, MI, Bez, Chidynma (The Voice), and Lagbaja will soon be announced as the new ambassadors for telecoms giant, Globacom. The music stars or their reps met with the management of Glo at the conference room of Eko Hotel from Monday to Friday last week.

Glo is planning to cut down on the number of old Nollywood stars who are currently their ambassadors and replace them with young, vibrant music stars. I hear the next phase will be comedians.

The new ambassadors have been interviewed, they have also negotiated the cost of engagement for a period of two years (They each will be getting between N10m/N20m annually). They have also agreed to terms and conditions for the engagement.

The stars are waiting for the official announcement after which they will all pick up their cheques.

Unknown gunmen kill younger brother of NNPC GMD in Kaduna

According to SaharaReporters, the younger brother of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group Managing Director, Engr. Andrew La'ah Yakubu was gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen in Kaduna this morning.

The gun men in conjunction with their collaborators reportedly trailed the GMD's younger brother from Kaduna town as he set off to Southern Kaduna to attend a funeral in Zangon Kataf local government area of the state.

The deceased was traveling with his wife and little girl before they were ambushed in the middle of the road around Kachia local government area, the fate of the other occupants in his car remains unknown.

4 persons feared dead as golf club van plunges into Lagos river

A Hilux van belonging to the Ikoyi Golf Club with registration number KS918AU plunged into the Majidun River in the Ikorodu area of Lagos in the early hours of yesterday morning. Four people, including the Golf Club manager Mr Kolawole Ahmed, was in the van when the accident occurred around 5:30 am as they headed home from work.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) officials and divers that conducted the search and rescue said they are yet to find survivors but will continue with the search.
