Stella Damasus and Daniel Ademinokan secretly wed

Stella Damasus and Daniel Ademinokan are married, and this is authoritative. The actress and the movie producer/director, who was married to actress Doris Simeon until 2011, got married sometime in February this year in New York. They now live together in a place called Jamaica Village, Queens, New York. Heard they might have temporarily relocated to the US. Stella is there with her two kids who are now schooling there.

This is the third marriage for Stella and the second for Daniel. The two have several investments together, including Abuja based clothing boutique, Code 55.

Nigerian woman attempts to commit suicide days before she was due to be deported from the UK

According to the Daily Mail, a 19 year old Nigerian girl married to a British man attempted to take her life just days before she was due to be deported to Nigeria. May Brown said she fled to the UK three years ago after witnessing her father's murder and being subjected to sexual abuse.

She settled in Dorset where she met and married Michael Brown in December 2012. May applied to stay in the UK and her application was rejected because UK Border Agency officials believed her marriage Michael was fake.

When May was informed that she would be deported today April 25th, she took an overdose of prescription pills. Meaning she would rather die than return to Nigeria. Ah! Nigeria is not that bad na. See the rest of the report after the cut...

25 year old DJ shot dead after receiving a phonecall in Lagos

The residents of Bank Olemoh Street, Surulere, Lagos, were terrified on Monday when two gunmen shot dead Olamide George, a 25-year-old deejay.

According to eyewitnesses, the assassination was carried out at about 2pm while George was with friends under a tree, popularly known as Abe Igi.
It was learnt that just before his murder, George reportedly answered a phone call, and the caller requested to know where he was. George answered that he was at Abe Igi.
George’s father, Mr. Gbolahan George, said, “I was told that the assassins were four and were in Keke Maruwa (tricycle). They parked at the entrance of the street; two got down and walked to where Olamide was sitting with his friends. The one with the gun did not know him, so the other person who accompanied him pointed at Olamide.

Babcock University denies increase in tuition fees, Releases statement

The Management of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun state has denied the recent claims by some students of the University that the school tuition fees of different departments for the next academic session has been increased outrageously.

In a statement released and signed by the Director, External and Community Affairs, Joshua Suleiman, the school Management has officially denied the students claims.

The statement reads in part “Our attention has been drawn to some misinformation and misinterpretation of the University’s fees as posted on some blogs. “For the avoidance of doubt, we present here the official fees of the 2013/2014 session as approved by the University Administration.”
