President Jonathan approves order proscribing Boko Haram and Ansaru members; supporters, collaborators now face prosecution under terrorism prevention act.
President Goodluck Jonathan has formally approved the proscription of Boko Haram and authorized the gazetting of an order declaring the group’s activities illegal and acts of terrorism.
The order which has been gazetted as the Terrorism (Prevention) (Proscription Order) Notice 2013 affects both Boko Haram (Jamaatu Ahlis-Sunna Liddaawati Wal Jihad) and another group – Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis Sudan, was approved by President Jonathan pursuant to section 2 0f the Terrorism Prevention Act, 2011 (As Amended).

The highest reward of $7 million is offered for the Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, who last week called on Islamists in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq to join the bloody fight to create an Islamic state in Nigeria.
The US State Department’s Rewards for Justice program also targeted Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), offering its first ever bounties for wanted militants in west Africa.

Actor Michael Douglas says oral sex gave him cancer
In a candid confession, the Basic Instinct star said he was told his throat cancer was triggered after he contracted the human papillomavirus (HPV) - the most common form of sexually transmitted disease.
It had been widely thought the 68-year-old Hollywood star’s years of drinking and smoking were to blame for the stage four cancer, which was first diagnosed in 2010.
But in a new interview Douglas - married since 2000 to British actress Catherine Zeta Jones, 43 - said oral sex had caused the disease.
Asked if he now regretted his years of smoking and drinking, he replied: “No. Because without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV, which actually comes about from cunnilingus.”
He went on to say that oral sex was also the best cure - a claim doctors deny.
He lost more than 45lbs following chemotherapy and radiation treatment - but has been cancer-free for two years.

“Not for me, no matter how they talk about it, it will never happen. I know what I’m talking about because I know the man I am married to, it will never happened. That is why I’m not moved when I read what they write on the pages of newspapers and the Internet. In fact, if I tell my husband that I am living him today, he will commit suicide.
I am the pillar of that home, though I am not the one proving for the family but I remain the pillar. I can say it again, I don’t see my marriage crashing, if they like let them do or say whatever they like my husband will not leave me it is me that would decide whether I am going to leave him or not.

Deceived? I don't think I owe the public any detail about my private life. I will have to choose when to let out something about my life or when not to let it out. I don't see a reason why I must disclose details of my private life.That shouldn't be anybody's business.
As your husband-to-be, is there any song about him on the album?
I can't really say if there is. But as a human being and as a songwriter, it is difficult to write a song without writing about your life and experience. He surely inspired me in writing some of the songs in the album.

Video: Many civilians killed in war against Boko Haram
Al Jazeera has obtained the first images of the Nigerian army's battle against Boko Haram fighters in the northern state of Borno. The pictures appear to show the bodies of Boko Haram rebels and many civilians, including women and children.
The Nigerian army have been fighting the group since a state of emergency was declared on May 14 in areas where the fighters have been operating. Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports exclusively from Maiduguri.
