Kate Middleton and Prince William welcome baby boy

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have welcomed a baby boy who is now third in line to the throne, Their son was born at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington around 4.24pm this afternoon.

Kate and her new born baby are doing well and will remain in hospital overnight. Big congrats to them!

18 year old Anna Ebiere Banner has been appointed Special Assistant on Tourism & Culture to Bayelsa Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson. The governor himself got on stage after she won the crown on Saturday night and made her his new special adviser.

You know how some queens come from one state but represent other states at the pageant? Well, that didn't happen with Anna. She's originally from Bayelsa state and I hear she's really 18 years old. She was born  February 18, 1995. Congrats to her!

11yr old girl flees from family over arranged marriage, speaks out online

The 11 year old Yemen girl, Nada Al-Ahdal (pictured above) who ran away from home after her parents promised her hand in marriage, has spoken out online saying 'she's not an item for sale.'

Nada said she was forced to run away and live with her uncle after she was promised to another man.

"They told me that I am engaged, and that my fiancé had already paid them money and brought the engagement ring. They said that I couldn't leave and even threatened to kill me if I went back to my uncle. I'm not an item for sale, I'm a human being and I would rather die than get married at this age. I've decided that I have two choices: to leave or to die. So I chose the first" Nada said in a video that was released online July 8th

Nada's saving grace is her uncle who has refused to let her family marry her off.

CoverGirl model Talia Castellano dies at 13 after 6 year battle with cancer

Talia Joy Castellano, the young girl who inspired thousands with her YouTube make-up tutorials and became an honorary face of CoverGirl, has died at the age of 13 following a 6 year battle with cancer.

Talia's family announced her death on her Facebook page last night. They wrote:

'It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven.'

Talia was diagnosed with with stage four neuroblastoma cancer in February 2007, and later diagnosed with leukemia. The young girl, who was so full of life, was told by her doctors mid last year that she had four to 1 year to live. May her soul rest in peace. See more photos of her after the cut...

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala & her four children are all Harvard graduates

The Minister of Finance Mrs Ngozi Oknonjo Iweala is a graduate of the prestigious Harvard University and so are her four children - Onyinye, Uzodinma, Ikechukwu and Uchechi. (Uzo and Uche pictured above)

Mrs Okonjo-Iweala studied Economics at Harvard, graduating magna cum laude with A.B in 1977.
Her eldest, Onyinye received her Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology from Harvard University in 2008 and graduated Harvard Medical School in 2010. Onyinye is a wife and mother.
Her son, Uzodinma Iweala received his A.B in English and American literature from Harvard and MD from Colombia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is the author of the critically acclaimed novel, Beasts of No Nation (2005).
Her other son, Ikechukwu Iweala studied social studies at Harvard and graduated in 2005.
Her last child Uchechi graduated from Harvard in 2009 and majored in Economics

Cory Monteith died from heroin and alcohol overdose, coroner reveals

Glee actor Cory Monteith's autopsy result has been released. The British Columbia Coroners Service revealed that an autopsy and toxicological analysis show that 31-year-old Cory, who has struggled with addiction since he was a young teenager, died from a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol.

Cory was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday July 13th. He had been scheduled to check out earlier that day, but when he failed to do so, hotel staff entered his room and discovered his body.

In March this year Cory admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction. Guess he didn't get the help he needed.

Baby born with prayer rosary round her neck in Niger state

According to a story by Nigerian Tribune, a baby girl was born with prayer rosary wrapped around her neck yesterday July 14th in Bida, Bida LGA of Niger State.

 The incident, which occurred around 2.00 p.m at Kotuworo area of the town, close to the home of Alhaji Bello Mansaba, the man with 86 wives, was said to have caused uproar, with people thronging the town to have a look at the baby born to Mrs Adijat and Mallam Issa, both of whom hail from Lama, Kwara State.

Nigerian Tribune further gathered that Adijat rushed to the home of a midwife, Abubakar Baiwa Shasha, where she was delivered of her baby girl.

Chris Brown's probation revoked; but was not taken into custody

A judge in LA yesterday revoked Chris Brown's probation after the L.A County District Attorney filed legal documents asking the judge to revoke it and immediately remand Chris Brown into custody, according to a report by TMZ. The D.A asked for the revocation based on charges being filed against Brown in connection with a hit-and-run in May but fortunately for Chris Brown, even though his probation was revoked, he wasn't taken into custody, which is sometimes the case.

TMZ reports:

The judge just revoked Chris Brown's probation in the Rihanna beating case, but the singer will remain a free man ... for now.

Brown showed up at court today to fight the L.A. County D.A.'s motion to revoke his probation in the wake of hit-and-run charges stemming from a car accident but the judge granted the motion anyway, paving the way for a probation violation hearing in August.

If the judge determines Chris violated his probation, the singer could be sentenced to 4 years in prison. In the meantime, Brown has been released on his own recognizance.

Hospital where women are charged $5 every time they scream while giving birth

Poor women have been exploited at their most vulnerable time by a hospital that charged them $5 every time they screamed during child birth.

The shocking discovery was made by a U.S. group that campaigns against corruption, as it released its annual Global Corruption Barometer.

At the hospital in Zimbabwe, one of the poorest countries in the world, the fine was said to be for 'raising a false alarm', according to Transparency International.

Women who were unable to pay the fine were allegedly kept in the hospital until their families could pay. Interest was also added to the fines, according to the Washington Post.

Funke's publicist confirmed that the two have indeed gone their separate ways (for now). They've actually been having issues for a while and Funke had actually been planning to divorce him quietly, but Mr Oloyede decided to make it public

Funke also recently changed her BB name from Mrs Funke Akindele Oloyede to Everybody loves Jenifa. Funke and Kehinde got married on Saturday May 26th 2012.
