Teenage boy flies Arik Air from Benin to Lagos hiding in tyre hole

A teenage boy named Daniel Ikehina unbelievably beat airline and airport security at the Benin airport yesterday Saturday August 24th and sneaked into the tyre compartment of a Lagos-bound Arik flight. The boy flew safely with the aircraft which left Benin around 9am and landed at Murtala Muhammed airport, hidden throughout in the undercarriage. He was immediately arrested by airport security after passengers saw him emerging from the aircraft tyre hole.

Arik spokesman Banji Ola explains what happened:

The management of Arik Air has expressed shock over the incident wondering how the teenager beat the Aviation Security personnel at the Benin Airport to get to the runway. 

The pilot of Arik Air flight W3 544, departing Benin Airport for Lagos at 9.00am today 24th August, 2013 reported to the control tower the presence of a strange boy in the bush about 200 – 300 meters at the end of runway 23.

Chris Brown blast TMZ on twitter

Earlier this week Chris Brown went ballistic on a bunch of unnamed rappers and the District Attorney who cited him for community service fraud. Chris Brown accused the DA of being racist.

Well, last night celebrity gossip website TMZ identified the DA in the case as a black female..

"Chris Brown is the victim of a racist ass District Attorney -- so claims Chris Brown" TMZ wrote "The singer went on a twitter rant last night, ragging on authorities for calling him out for submitting bogus community service reports in the Rihanna beating case. Fun Fact -- the actual L.A. County D.A. is an African-American woman.

Brown thinks punishing men for beating women at a point is ridiculous. Beating women can be such a bitch, Chris.

Human Rights Activist and Lawyer, Mike Ozekhome Kidnapped

Prominent lawyer and human rights activist, Mike Ozekhome SAN was kidnapped with his driver last night Friday August 23rd along the Benin-Auchi road in Edo state. Edo state commissioner of police Mr Foluso Adebanjo said four policemen were killed following the attack on Mr Ozekhome. The kidnappers are yet to contact his family or business associates.

MTN loses big in Mobile Number Portability scheme

According to the Director of Public Affairs of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr Tony Ojobo, MTN lost a lot of their subscribers to other networks during the recently introduced Mobile Number Portability (MNP) scheme.

According to figures released by Mr Ojobo, MTN topped the losers table among an overall number of subscribers that switched service providers in the telecoms market with 49%; followed by Globacom with 23%; Airtel with 17%; while Etisalat came last on the losers’ table with 11%. Which means Etisalat emerged top in the number porting scheme among the telecoms company. Wow!

Lagos state government rescues 25 children from alleged trafficker

The Lagos State Government has rescued 25 children from an alleged child trafficker in the Egbeda area of the state, according to a story by Punch

The suspected trafficker, Mrs. Rosemary Nwachukwu (pictured right), was also arrested and has been handed over to the Alausa Police Division, while the children are currently in government’s custody.

The government accused Nwachukwu of operating an illegal orphanage named, Saint Stephen Charity Foundation, on Abiodun Adebanbo Street, Egbeda.

 It was gathered that officials from the Office of Youth and Social Department, led by the Director, Child Development, Mrs. Alaba Fadairo, in conjunction with personnel from the Office of Public Defender and policemen, stormed the orphanage on Saturday.

Identical twins charged with rape since DNA couldn't prove who committed the crime

Mohammed and Aftab Asghar, 22, were both arrested after DNA evidence was found at the scene which provided a possible link to one, or both, the brothers. Since identical twins come from the same fertilised egg, they have the same DNA.

Police investigated after a girl aged 17 claimed she was attacked in a park near Reading, Berks, on Guy Fawkes Night 2011. Detectives decided to charge both men. Prosecutors have now requested more time to continue investigating lines of inquiry which may lead to only one of the brothers facing trial.

Monalisa Chinda and Lanre Nzeribe break up

It’s been almost a year and a half since the relationship started between the two love birds, actress Monalisa Chinda and business man Lanre Nzeribe have called it quits. According to sources close to the actress, Monalisa walked out of the relationship about a month ago. Why they really broke up is of course only known to both of them but I know there was a lot of disagreement about a business venture they were to start together. Monalisa and Lanre were working on a magazine called Monalisa before their break up.
