According to new reports, actor Orlando Bloom and super model Miranda Kerr have split up after just three years of marriage and six years together.
In a joint statement, Orlando and Miranda Kerr said they separated amicably a few months ago.

"After 6 years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family." A res for the couple said in a statement

Oronto Douglas's elder sister has been released

After spending nine days in the hands of her abductors, Mrs. Augusta Douglas-Ayam, the sister to the Special Adviser to the President on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Oronto Douglas has been released. Though we can't say if a ransom was paid, but in a statement issued by the family that was made available tonight, it says in it that she was freed unconditionally this morning.

“After nine traumatic days in the hands of abductors, our beloved sister Augusta Douglas-Ayam was this morning unconditionally released to the family. We thank God for his protection and intervention. We also thank all Nigerians who through prayers and words of encouragement supported us throughout this ordeal. Our sister is currently in a hospital receiving treatment. We will not be making any further statements on this issue and wish to put it behind us”, the statement read.

According to new reports, Minister of Aviation Ms Stella Oduah is currently in Israel with president Jonathan. Stella Oduah left Nigeria on Tuesday while President Jonathan left yesterday. The two are in Israel to sign the Bilateral Air Services Agreement, BASA, with the country.

On Monday night, October 21st, US Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz insulted Nigerians in a bid to mock Obamacare. He told a rally of his fellow activists in Houston that Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website.

Senator Cruz said:

“You may have noticed that all the Nigerian email scammers have become a lot less active lately. They all have been hired to run the Obamacare website.”

Pres. Jonathan sets up committee to probe Stella Oduah car scandal

According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a three-man panel to investigate the N225million armoured car scandal involving aviation minister, Stella Oduah.

Mr Abati said the panel will be chaired by the immediate past Head of Service, Sali Bello and will include the National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, and Air Vice Marshal Dik Iruenebere. The panel is to find out why the cars were bought and whether the procurement of the cars followed due process or not. Stella Oduah was conspicuously absent at today's Federal Executive Council meeting.

Thisday foreign editor found dead in his car in Apapa

Thisday Foreign and Diplomatic Editor, Mr. Paul Ohia, was found dead yesterday October 22nd in his official car, a white Kia Optima along Marine Road, Apapa, Lagos.

According to eyewitness reports, the deceased had parked his car for several hours by the side of the road, which aroused the suspicion of passersby, prompting them to move closer to check on him. The eyewitnesses said the deceased had reclined the driver's seat and lay on it as if he was sleeping; until they opened the car doors to find out that he was motionless and lifeless.

The sympathizers who noticed the Thisday sticker on the windshield of the car called Thisday office, informing them of the tragic incident. Thisday staff and the police moved Mr. Ohia to Lagoon Hospital in Apapa where he was confirmed dead.

Although, the hospital said an autopsy would determine the actual cause of death, the medical doctor on duty said the deceased might have died of cardiac arrest. Ohia is survived by a wife and two children. May his soul rest in peace...Amen. (Thisday)

Chocolate City Music gets a Court Injunction against Brymo

OK, now I see the reason for Brymo's tweets yesterday. He literally can't work as an artist until he sorts himself out with Choc City. Apparently his former record label Chocolate City through their law firm, L & A legal Consultants on Monday October 21st got an injunction against him, 'restraining him from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organisation other than Chocolate City pending the determination of the suit against him.

Chocolate City says Brymo's contract remains valid until 2016.

Presidential fleet larger than 3 domestic airlines - Report

According to a report from Punchng.com, the Presidential Air Fleet has more aircraft that three domestic airlines combined! SMH! Read below...

The declining fortunes of the domestic airlines have made President Goodluck Jonathan’s 10-aircraft Presidential Air Fleet larger than the fleets of three domestic airlines combined, investigations by Punch correspondent revealed on Tuesday.

The three carriers are Chanchangi, MedView, and FirstNation airlines. Chanchangi has one aircraft; Medview Airlines, three; while FirstNation has  two.

IRS Airlines, with five aircraft in its fleet, has only one that is currently operational. The four others have been sent overseas for routine maintenance for a long time now.

It can be technically assumed that the Presidential Air Fleet is bigger than the four domestic airlines, according to industry experts.

Ex-reps member Dino Melaye arrested for protesting against Stella Oduah

Former House of Reps member and Executive Director, Anti-Corruption Network, Dino Melaye was this afternoon arrested by the Nigerian police during a protest at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.

Dino led a group of protesters to the Federal Secretariat, Abuja around noon today, calling for the sack of the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, over the purchase of two BMW armoured cars.

Drama ensued during the protest as another group emerged from nowhere to stage a counter protest to drum up support for the minister.

The police led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Sunday Olukoya, arrived at the scene and promptly arrested Dino Melaye's group. They were taken away in a Toyota Hilux van, marked NPS 21280 at about one this afternoon.
