Policemen involved in Badagry lynching get bail

According to new reports, the policemen indicted in the lynching of two innocent young men (Ifechukwudi Nwanikpor, 25, and Kazeem Onayemi, 26) in Ajara, Badagry, have been granted bail.

The officers were arrested due to their alleged involvement in the mob action that led to the brutal killing of the two young men as captured by various video clips which later went viral on the internet.

 According to our source, Inspector Adefemi Ashogbon, Sergeant John Sanayon and seven other police officers were granted bail due to their deteriorating health in detention and were allowed to seek medical attention pending the outcome of the investigation and date of their trial.

A video recording by some bystanders exposed Inspector Adefemi Ashogbon and Sergeant John Sanayon, who were attached to the Badagry Police station, at the scene of lynching while seven others police officers were detained for allegedly planting guns on the victims and labelling them armed robbers.

 Several calls were made to the Lagos state police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, in a bid to ascertain the grant of bail. However, they went unanswered.

Eleven strange men in black robes (can you spot them in the pic above?) caused a stir at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge on Sunday October 27th during the Chelsea vs Manchester City clash.

Goal.com reports that the hooded men, who had mysterious circles on their chest, were seen making curious synchronised movements at irregular intervals during Chelsea's 2-1 win, while they also stood in unison at random moments.

Situated three rows back from the corner flag at the Shed End, the gang could be clearly seen on TV cameras beaming pictures of the crunch fixture all across the world.

Chris Brown released after assault charge reduced from felony to Misdemeanour

Chris Brown catches gigantic break! According to TMZ, he was released a few hours ago without bail and the assault charge has been reduced from a felony, which could have landed him in prison, to a misdemeanor. He's also required to stay 100 yards away from the man he allegedly punched in D.C yesterday.

Chris, who has been in custody since the incident, had been ordered to take a drug test, but the judge vacated that order. His bodyguard's charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

A Nigerian man jailed in the UK for raping a woman in her own home

A Nigerian night club bouncer has been jailed for seven years in the UK for raping a woman in her own home. Idreez Popoola (pictured above), who twice dodged deportation, brutally attacked his victim on 29th December 2012, eleven months after he successful appealed his deportation ruling.

Prosecutors said Popoola met his victim while working as an agency-employed bouncer outside Bar So in Northampton town centre. He took her out for drinks then managed to convince the woman to take him back to her home. It was in her home that he attacked her.

Popoola, 34, was jailed for seven years at a court in Northampton on October 18. He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. The court told him he would be automatically deported back to Nigeria on his release from prison.

Instagram deletes singer Maheeda's page

Singer Maheeda went too far on Sunday by posting a pic of one of her male fans masturbating to her photo. It was a photo of a man holding his penis with Maheeda's nude pics opened on his computer. Instagram deleted her page @MaheedaNigeria because she violated the site's policy on explicit photos.

Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray has been released from prison

Late Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, who was sentenced to four years in prison for involuntary manslaughter for causing the death of Michael Jackson with an overdose of the anesthetic Propofol, has been released from prison.

According to reports Conrad Murray was released from the LA county jail at 12:01 am Monday morning October 28. Murray, who's medical license has been revoked, plans to apply to have his license reinstated.

First Lady of Enugu State begs human rights groups to release her from house arrest imposed by her husband

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says Gov. Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to human rights bodies to rescue her.

In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime (pictured above with Governor Chime) disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in Oct. 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years. Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.

“My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my Mum and my siblings bad,” she wrote.

Stella Oduah spotted in Israel as Jonathan refuses to see her

Aviation Minster Stella Oduah is currently in Israel where she went to meet President Jonathan to explain her role in the controversial BMW car deal and also take part in the signing of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement with Israel. But according to new reports, the president has not only refused to see Stella Oduah, he's also keeping her out of the signing ceremony which will hold today in Israel.

President Jonathan is said to be uncomfortable with the public outrage surrounding the minister and he doesn't want it to look like he's condoning corruption, especially since he's set up a committee to probe the minister.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) said recently that they don't have any documents relating to the controversial bulletproof cars it bought for the Minister.

US Senator Ted Cruz apologizes for offensive remark about Nigerians

On Monday Oct. 21st, US Republican Senator Ted Cruz told a rally that Nigerian email scammers have been hired to run the Obamacare website, a comment that a lot of Nigerians found offensive. After being bombarded with several phone calls from Nigerians in Houston and all across the US, the office of Ted Cruz has issued a statement from the Senator apologizing for what he said.

Karrueche thrashes Chris Brown after arrest today

Chris Brown's on-and-off again girlfriend Karrueche Tran trashed him on twitter today a few hours after it emerged that he'd been arrested for punching a man in D.C. Her reaction to the news came as a surprise to some people because their split, which happened recently, hadn't been made public.

Chris and Karrueche had a falling out about a week ago after she asked to move into Chris' LA pad. A source claims Chris flipped over the request and accused Karrueche of not being 'grateful' for everything he already does for her, and for trying to push him too hard. Chris and Karrueche  have since unfollowed each other on Twitter. Hehe.

Chris Brown was arrested in Washington D.C. this morning for felony assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... at around 4:30 AM Brown got into an argument with a man outside the W Hotel on K Street and allegedly punched him once in the face.  We're told the alleged victim never threw a punch. 

The alleged victim tells TMZ ... he and a friend were hanging out at the W when they saw two woman about to take a picture with Brown. The victim -- who says he's not a Chris Brown fan -- says he and his buddy photo bombed the 2 woman and Chris went nuts, punching him in the face and breaking his nose.  He went to the hospital and says he may need surgery as early as tomorrow.

2 planes collide at Lagos airport

According to a report by Punch, a minor accident occurred on Friday Oct. 25th at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos as two aircraft wings collided.

The Turkish Airline plane wings collided with that of Max Air plane which had brought in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. The Turkish Airplane had landed safely but was taxiing to stop at the airport’s apron when its wing collided with that of Max Air.

The collision resulted in minor damages to both airplanes and sources said they had been  taken away for repairs. Spokesman, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke confirmed the incident. He however said damages to the aircraft belonging to both airlines were minor and that both planes had been taken away for repairs.

Teenage driver crushes 3 year old girl to death in Lagos

When three-year-old Ikeoluwa Olaniyi was playing with her friends in her grandfather’s compound in Ire Akari Estate, Isolo, Lagos, on September 3, 2013, little did she know that death was lurking.
PUNCH Metro learnt that a teenage motorist, Chinyere Wagbaranta, in company with her brother, Chisom, and a police corporal attached to Police Mobile Force 22, Felix Adebayo, in a Mercedes Benz Sports Utility Vehicle, drove into the compound carelessly, hitting the little girl and crushing her skull.

The victim’s grandfather, Adesola Elegbede, who spoke to our correspondent while fighting back tears, said Ikeoluwa was his first grandchild.

He said, “Ikeoluwa lives with me and my wife. Her father works in a bank and her mother works with an accounting firm, which are both located on Victoria Island. Ikeoluwa attends a school in Ilasa, which is not far from our house. She stays with her parents during the weekend.
