Red Cross involved in secret Boko Haram prisoner swap deal to release Chibok girls
Officials from the Geneva-based organisation have sat in on talks between the Nigerian government and a senior Boko Haram leader currently held in one of the country's maximum security prisons. The Red Cross officials have also visited a number of other jails, identifying a list of 16 senior commanders that Boko Haram wants freed in exchange for its hostages.

Goodluck Jonathan visited the site of the Synagogue Church of All Nations building collapse yesterday where he commiserated with T.B Joshua and families of victims. Speaking to newsmen after the inspection, the president said there will be an investigation into the circumstances that led to the collapse of the building which has killed at least 86 people and injured 131 so far, most of them South Africans. These beautiful little angels lost their mum in the Federal College of Education, Kano bomb blast that occurred on Wednesday September 17th. 15 students of the college lost their lives while 34 others were seriously injured.
Around 1.30pm on that fateful day, terrorists climbed the fence of the school, jumped into the school premises and began shooting sporadically. One suicide bomber gained entrance into one of the classrooms and detonated the bomb on him, killing 15 students, one of whom was these twins mother.

Singer Keyshia Cole arrested for attacking love rival over Birdman
According to TMZ, Keyshia was arrested yesterday around 5am after gaining access to Birdman's West L.A. condo and finding him there with another woman who had spent the night with him.
"Our sources say for some reason security let her go up to Birdman's penthouse and when she got in she saw another woman and went nuts. We're told Keyshia attacked her leaving scratches all over her face. Cops were called and Keyshia was arrested for battery and an outstanding reckless driving warrant. She was just released on $46,000 bail." TMZ reports

Man commits suicide in Ekiti after two failed attempts
After two failed attempts to kill himself in the last three years, a man said to be in his 30s named Mundiu (pictured above) finally succeeded in killing himself yesterday September 19th.
According to Sun News, Mundiu killed himself in the hall way of his compound in Ayede-Ekiti community in Oye local government of Ekiti state around in the early hours of yesterday morning.
According to one of his neighbors, Muntiu had always complained of being poor and unsuccessful and was said to be very frustrated. A day before he killed himself, he mentioned to neighbours that they will be witnessing drama on Friday but no one knew he was talking about him killing himself...

He asked them to talk about the people who were rescued/survived and not focus on the people who died.

Photos: Church building collapses in Edo state
A one-storey building in an Edo State church has collapsed. The building owned by Christ Chosen Church of God, located in Egor, collapsed today 19th of September, 2014.
According to eyewitnesses, the building is an old residential building in the church premises, which workers were asked to demolish before collapsing on them and killing three.

Eight Ebola awareness workers killed by villagers in Guinea
Eight Ebola awareness workers including 3 journalists & 5 health workers were killed by angry villagers on Tuesday Sept. 16th in Wome village, same village where the Ebola virus broke out early this year.
The workers were killed while out creating awareness and distributing flyers about Ebola. According to reports, the villagers, who believe the Ebola outbreak is a fabricated story, began throwing rocks at the delegation who arrived to do disinfection work and educate people about how to prevent Ebola.
According to a journalist who escaped and later spoke to a radio station in Guinea, she said residents who have always rebuffed government's effort in containing the spread of the virus, gathered around them, first started by insulting them then the physical assault started. Overall, 8 people were killed.

SCOAN: Death toll of South Africans increase to 84, 17 unaccounted for
In an interview with AFP, the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni, said the number of South Africans that died in the Friday September 12th building collapse at the Synangogue church has increased to 84 and that 265 South Africans survived the incident.
“The number has risen from 67 to 84, with more bodies discovered on Thursday, September 18th. The number of South Africans who were in the church might be higher, as we believe that some people organized the trip themselves without using travel agents.
"There are 265 South African survivors. Initially, there were 96 injured South Africans, but now there are only 29 still in hospital, including a three-year-old,” Mr. Mnguni saidHe also said that 17 South Africans are unaccounted for. It is believed that there were about 349 South Africans visiting the popular church at the time of the collapse.

Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola, yesterday September 18th, hosted some Ebola survivors at his office at the state Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja. Speaking with the survivors, the governor commended them for coming forward to share their experiences, saying that they are proof that the disease is not a death sentence.

Rescue operation at Synagogue building collapse site ends, death toll put at 80
Rescue operation at Synagogue Church of All Nations site ended yesterday September 18th. NEMA officials say they are convinced that there are no more bodies at the site. The death toll has been put at 80. NEMA says the next phase is for proper identification and retrieval of the bodies by families of the victims.

High ranking Boko Haram member captured, 60 members killed by military
A high ranking member of terror group, Boko Haram, was yesterday September 17th captured by the military after a failed attempted attack on Konduga in Borno state. The sect members actually made a second attempt into Konduga after the military celebrated its victory against them yesterday afternoon. The captured terror leader is currently at a military facility where he is receiving treatment.
In a related development, one soldier was killed after an ambush was laid by the sect members in Benishek, Borno state. Four motorcycles were captured from the terror group after the attack. See the tweets after the cut...
