Jnr Pope's wife shares his very dramatic proposal to her

Jennifer, the beautiful wife of actor, Jnr Pope Odonwodo took to her instagram page today to share her husband's dramatic proposal to her which happened exactly one year ago today. Quite dramatic but unique. Read her story below...
"Before that fateful day, Esther & I had been talking & she told me that a girl/fan (Ojeah) was coming from London and she already made arrangements on a hotel where she would stay and that my man would be spending a day or two with her at the hotel. I asked Esther how she got the info, she said my man told her hubby and her hubby told her in confidence...but cz of d likeness she has for me, she wouldn't want me fooled/hurt. Mother 'used her last breath' to save daughter by hiding her in the toilet as marine father shoots her dead

A mother saved her six-month-old baby with her 'last breath,' sheltering the infant in the toilet after her boyfriend shot her in the head and turned the gun on himself. Jessica Arrendale, 33 (pictured with her baby), was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head along with Antoine Davis (right), 30, who police believe shot himself and Arrendale in a murder-suicide in an Atlanta suburb.

Police had surrounded Arrendale's townhouse. When they finally entered the home, they found the baby safe inside and rushed her to the hospital to treat her for hypothermia.

Cameroon military is claiming they killed Boko Haram leader Shekau, shares photo

In a rare public show by the Cameroon army, photos of the Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau were made public alongside a statement claiming he was killed during a cross border raid deep inside Nigeria by the Cameroon military. A Cameroon military source who spoke to Cameroon Concord late last night, revealed that Abubakar Shekau was killed following an aerial bombardment of his hideout inside Nigeria. The Cameroon army has ever since yesterday been in serious combat against thousands of Boko Haram fighters trying to enter Cameroon via Fotokol from Gambaral Ngala in Nigeria.

Graphic photos: Fracas in Lagos Island as popular politician is killed

Political campaigns have begun and the first casualty has been recorded in the centre of Lagos politics, the Lagos Island. A popular local politician named Azeez Ashake was shot dead at close range in front of his house at Isale Eko on Saturday September 20th by suspected political thugs.

His son, Usman was also shot but is said to still be alive receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos Island. Azeez Ashake is said to be a strong leader of a particular political group in Lagos Island, and is said to be very influential. His killing caused a lot of chaos in Isale Eko over the weekend, where it's been reported that four people have so far been killed in retaliation for his death. GEJ to decide whether he will rerun with VP Sambo - PDP

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, says President Jonathan will be the one to determine if he would still like to run with his Vice, Namadi Sambo in the 2015 general elections.

Metuh said this at a press conference yesterday September 21st in Abuja. He also said that President Jonathan is yet to respond to the decision the party members took on Thursday September 18th where he was adopted as the sole Presidential candidate of the PDP
"The President is yet to communicate to the party or to the entire country because he is not only the President of the PDP, he is the President of Nigeria and I cannot inform you of decisions that have been taken in terms of what will happen because subjective opinions is not part of my job. I believed a lot of people are trying to speculate on Jonathan/Sambo ticket but why don’t we wait until when the President declares?

Boko Haram: Shekau impersonator killed by Nigerian military?

The Nigerian troops may have recorded a major victory in the war against Boko Haram as the man suspected to be mimicking late Abubakar Shekau in recent videos from the sect, may have been killed during the September 17th battle in Konduga, Borno state.

A senior military source said "it is getting more certain that the terrorists' commander who has been mimicking Shekau in those videos is the one killed in Konduga on September 17."

Sources at the image making company of the Nigerian government, PRNigeria, say the death of the man believed to be the leader of the group is responsible for the scattering of the sect members in different independent locations in neighboring countries.

Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida hospitalized in Germany

According to Sahara Reporters, former Head of state, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida popularly known as IBB is currently in a hospital in German. He was reportedly rushed to Germany about 10 days ago from his hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger State. SR reports that the former military dictator who is 73 years old is severely ill and that his ailment relates to a chronic back ailment for which he earlier had surgery in Germany.

Ebola: Primary and Secondary schools in Lagos to resume Oct. 8th

The NUT and other bodies and individuals who were against the September 22nd resumption date of primary and secondary schools in Lagos have succeeded as the Lagos state government have approved a new resumption date. Schools will now resume October 8th.

Governor Fashola approved the new resumption date at a stakeholders' forum which held today Sunday September 21st in Lagos. Governor Fashola said they decided to postpone the date to allow for adequate distribution of Ebola preventive materials in schools across the state

Red Cross involved in secret Boko Haram prisoner swap deal to release Chibok girls

Looks like the federal govt is in talks with Boko Haram to release Chibok girls despite vowing a few months ago not to negotiate with the terror group. According to UK Telegraph, the International Committee of the Red Cross is currently involved in a secret prisoner swap deal to secure the release of the girls. Find the report below...
Officials from the Geneva-based organisation have sat in on talks between the Nigerian government and a senior Boko Haram leader currently held in one of the country's maximum security prisons. The Red Cross officials have also visited a number of other jails, identifying a list of 16 senior commanders that Boko Haram wants freed in exchange for its hostages.

Pic of young twins who lost their mum in the FCE bomb blast

These beautiful little angels lost their mum in the Federal College of Education, Kano bomb blast that occurred on Wednesday September 17th. 15 students of the college lost their lives while 34 others were seriously injured.

Around 1.30pm on that fateful day, terrorists climbed the fence of the school, jumped into the school premises and began shooting sporadically. One suicide bomber gained entrance into one of the classrooms and detonated the bomb on him, killing 15 students, one of whom was these twins mother.

Bishop Oyedepo speaks on why private Universities are expensive in Nigeria

Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church has said private universities in Nigeria are expensive because the cost of maintaining and giving quality education is high. He also criticized Nigerians about believing in spending millions of naira on parties, but can’t spend such on their children’s education. Bishop Oyedepo addressed this issue while speaking to Journalists on Friday in Ota, Ogun State. His words;
“I’m sure we all agree that education is expensive. Education carries cost; nothing of value is free. Our mission for years long, before we started any university or secondary school, was a bursary awarding church and we have not stopped doing that till tomorrow.”
“Our problem most of the time is priority; an average Nigerian can spend N1m on burial but to spend N200,000 on education (is a problem), because of wrong priority.
