15 year old Argentinian Julia Alvarez was left disfigured after two jealous girls slashed her face with knives because she was 'too pretty'. The two girls, who are sisters, have since been arrested. Julia later told police the girls said they wanted to make her look like horror movie character, Chucky.

Julia said she was walking home in the town of Juan Domingo Peron, in the northern Argentinian province of Formosa, when the girls aged 18 and 16 attacked her without any provocation.

"Everyone says you are pretty. You won't look pretty when we have finished with you. People will call you Chucky." - Julia claims this is what the girls told her before slashing her face...

Today marks the 54th anniversary of our country’s independence as a sovereign nation.  This is also the tenth month of our journey into a new century, having marked the centenary of our nation in January this year.  The first one hundred years were marked by triumphs and tribulations, benefits and burdens, opportunities and challenges.  We made some far reaching advances in building a strong, united and prosperous nation.  We also overcame the forces of disunity that culminated in a debilitating civil war.  We have also renewed our faith in one another, and in our country. We have proven that we are truly a resilient nation.

Juliet Ibrahim opens up about her failed marriage, says she feel bad the way it ended

Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim has said it’s not her fault that her marriage didn’t work out and it has nothing to do with being an actress like a lot of people have been suggesting. Well, its been revealed that a whole lot of money is pumped into her appearance weekly. According to Look Magazine, Rihanna who is worth $120m spends about $50k weekly on her beauty routine. That's about N8m.

Actress Ini Edo's marriage packs up, removes husband's name from instagram

After five years together, actress Ini Edo's marriage to her US based husband Philip Ehiagwina has crashed. The couple who lived separately for most of their marriage decided to formally split in early August. There are reports that Ini's people have even returned the bride price Philip paid in 2008.

Ini has since removed her husband's name from her social media accounts and she also removed wife from her bio on instagram. Her bio used to read - actress and wife...but wife is no longer there. A source said they have been having problems for quite a while because of trust issues before they decided to finally end their marriage. They have no children together.

Texas man tests positive to Ebola virus in the US

 A Texas man who just returned from Liberia to the US has tested positive to the deadly Ebola virus.

Announcing the development today September 30th, America's Center for Disease Control said the unidentified man was asymptomatic when he arrived back from Liberia recently and only started showing suspicious symptoms yesterday, prompting his immediate check-in into a Dallas hospital where it was confirmed he had the dreaded viral disease after preliminary test was carried out on him.

He has now been placed on strict isolation while a trace of all contacts he's made since his return back to America has commenced.

The published story, made false claims that during the recent Native & Vogue Fashion Week that took place in Port-Harcourt, that the Ex-Miss World turned Fashion Entrepreneur, poured her heart out to guests and revealed that she is suffering from Endometriosis.

While there was an admission of a Top Model on her struggle with Endometriosis, this admission was not made by Agbani Darego. Agbani has since taken to her Twitter and Facebook account to dismiss these false claims.

Endometriosis is the same thing Nike Oshinowo has that made it almost impossible for her to carry a pregnancy.

Photo: Two Nigerian girls rescued from sex slaves in Burkina Faso

Two teenage Nigerian girls, Rejoice Chioma Israel, 16, (centre) and Rosemary ‎Uchenna Emmanuel, 19 (right), who were trafficked to Burkina Faso to become sex workers in the country have been rescued, PM News reports.

The two girls left Nigeria on 11 July with a man who promised to take them to Malaysia via Burkina Faso for a better life. The trafficker explained to them that they will be given fresh passports and some vaccines in Burkina Faso before proceeding to Malaysia for well paid jobs.

But once in Ouagadugu, the capital of Burkina Faso, they were handed over to a Nigerian woman called Onome who introduced them to prostitution.

3 Boko Haram members sentenced to 25 years each

The Federal High Court in Lagos today Tuesday September 30th sentenced 3 Boko Haram members to 25 years imprisonment each, The Nation reports.

However, journalists were not allowed to cover the judgment. Only lawyers in the prosecution and defence teams were allowed in court.

A source, who witnessed the verdict, but craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, told reporters that the fourth defendant was acquitted.
