Aston Kutcher and Mila Kunis welcome baby girl

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis welcomed a daughter on Tuesday night September 30th, according to TMZ. Mila, who got engaged to Ashton earlier this year, gave birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles. The couple started dating in 2012 but have been friends since the late 90s. Congrats to them.

NDLEA arrest smugglers who hid N119m worth of drugs in perfume bottles

Officials of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested two suspected drug smugglers, Marvin Daniel and Victor Akubuo (pictured above) for smuggling N119m worth of illegal substances that tested positive for cocaine. The drugs were concealed inside perfume bottles and capacitors.

The suspects flew from Dubai into Lagos with the illegal substances and were arrested after a screening of their luggage at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. While one of the suspects, Daniel hid 7.58 kg of the drugs in capacitors, Akubuo concealed his, weighing 5.75kg, inside perfume bottles.

Borno state Governor grants 22 prisoners amnesty to mark independence day

Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima, today October 1st granted 22 prison inmates amnesty during an unscheduled visit to the Maiduguri Maximum Security Prison in celebration of Nigeria's independence.

Governor Shettima said the amnesty granted to the prisoners followed the recommendation of the State Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy.

Ayo Fayose led thugs to beat judges, Ekiti state Chief Judge tells NJC

The Chief Judge of Ekiti state, Justice Daramola Ayodeji, has petitioned the National Judicial Council, NJC, and the Ekiti state police commissioner over the Thursday September 25th Ekiti state tribunal sitting disruption, accusing the Ekiti state Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose of complicity in the attack on judges and court workers in the state last week.

In the petition entitled ‘Ekiti State Judiciary under siege of political thugs", the Chief Judge chronicled recent incidents in the state where thugs loyal to Ayo Fayose, invaded court premises, disrupted judicial activities and assaulted court officials.

Boko Haram has carried out at least 9 attacks on the town of Konduga, Borno State since September 12th, 2014. This video footage shows the Boko Haram fatalities after one of the attacks. If you observe, many of the corpses look like those of kids, some of the Civilian JTF members (the guys with guns and RPG rounds walking around) also look like they are teens.

Narrator: "Look at the (bodies) of the useless Boko Haram."
"So far I've counted 800+"
This statement was acknowledged by another spectator from the background. He says: "this is the hand work of Nigerian soldiers."

Pic: Dubai police bust Nigerian gang involved in armed robbery

Dubai Police have arrested a gang comprising five Nigerians (pictured above) who were involved in armed robbery at the Al Mustaqbal money exchange in Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Road in Ajman.

The gang managed to steal Dhs2,75,000 including various foreign currencies.

Deputy Ajman Police chief said that the incident took place last week when the gang members entered the exchange and attacked and assaulted its employees, threatening them with toy guns before emptying the premises of its cash and fleeing.

The gang members entered the country on a visit visa, which expired long time ago.

15 year old Argentinian Julia Alvarez was left disfigured after two jealous girls slashed her face with knives because she was 'too pretty'. The two girls, who are sisters, have since been arrested. Julia later told police the girls said they wanted to make her look like horror movie character, Chucky.

Julia said she was walking home in the town of Juan Domingo Peron, in the northern Argentinian province of Formosa, when the girls aged 18 and 16 attacked her without any provocation.

"Everyone says you are pretty. You won't look pretty when we have finished with you. People will call you Chucky." - Julia claims this is what the girls told her before slashing her face...

Today marks the 54th anniversary of our country’s independence as a sovereign nation.  This is also the tenth month of our journey into a new century, having marked the centenary of our nation in January this year.  The first one hundred years were marked by triumphs and tribulations, benefits and burdens, opportunities and challenges.  We made some far reaching advances in building a strong, united and prosperous nation.  We also overcame the forces of disunity that culminated in a debilitating civil war.  We have also renewed our faith in one another, and in our country. We have proven that we are truly a resilient nation.

Actress Ini Edo's marriage packs up, removes husband's name from instagram

After five years together, actress Ini Edo's marriage to her US based husband Philip Ehiagwina has crashed. The couple who lived separately for most of their marriage decided to formally split in early August. There are reports that Ini's people have even returned the bride price Philip paid in 2008.

Ini has since removed her husband's name from her social media accounts and she also removed wife from her bio on instagram. Her bio used to read - actress and wife...but wife is no longer there. A source said they have been having problems for quite a while because of trust issues before they decided to finally end their marriage. They have no children together.
