"I would want to say that the Presidential Spokesman should be careful for the kind of threats he issues to an elected Governor. He should remember that the President is not a prefect of the governor. He was elected as President just as the Governor was elected as a governor, and Nigeria is a federation. Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state has reacted to yesterday's statement from the presidency where he was advised to stop political rascality and blackmail. Speaking through the state's Commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari, Governor Amaechi said there was never a time he discussed First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan. He also described Presidential Spokesman, Reuben Abati as the rascality within the Presidency

Beyonce's tour photographer Yosra El-Essawy dies at 33
British-Egyptian born Yosra el-Essawy, the photographer who captured Beyonce’s The Mrs. Carter World Tour, and was behind some of Beyonce's iconic photos, has died. Yosra had been battling inoperable esophageal cancer for about a year. She lost her battle with it on Saturday Oct. 25th. She was just 33 years old.
Yosra was open about the disease and chronicled her battle with it on her instagram page. Beyonce's official website dedicated a day to her and wrote;

Gunmen kill one German and abduct another in Ogun state
Unknown gunmen killed a German national and abducted another one on Friday morning October 24th in Sagamu, Ogun state. The two men, who worked for Julius Berger, were traveling in two separate vehicles without their security escorts when the gunmen attacked and fired shots into their vehicles.
"About four armed men emerged from the bush near Sagamu on Friday morning and attacked. A bullet hit one German and he was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital, while the hoodlums abducted another German.” police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi told AFP

According to a new report, super wealthy Africans are spending almost £4million on London property every week as they snap up some of the most exclusive investments in the capital, this is according to Real Estate agents in the UK.
More than £600million has been spent in London by Africans within the last three years and its on the increase. The wealthy buyers are from Nigeria, Ghana, Congo, Gabon, Cameroon and Senegal, UK Daily Mail reports.

US Ebola nurse sues after being forced into quarantine in New Jersey
A US nurse who works for Doctors Without Borders, has hired a civil rights lawyer to sue after she was forced into quarantine on returning to the US from caring for Ebola victims in Sierra Leone. The US Govt recently started a mandatory 21-day quarantine order for all health workers who arrived back in the US via airports in New York, New Jersey and Chicago, to help stop the spread of Ebola.
Kaci Hickox, (pictured above) who was the first person to be placed into the 21 day period of isolation, said she was treated like a 'criminal' after risking her life to volunteer in an Ebola-stricken country. Her lawyer said Kaci's human rights were abused when she was sent to hospital in a protective suit after arriving at New Jersey's Newark Airport.

South Africa football captain shot dead in his girlfriend's house
Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates number one goalkeeper and captain Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead yesterday October 26th at his girlfriend's house just a few hours after the photo above was taken.
According to reports, Meyiwa, 27, who played a match for Orlando Pirates on Saturday night, was at his girlfriend's house, SA pop star Kelly Khumalo (pictured right), when three men entered the home in Vosloorus, Johannesburg to rob them. Meyiwa ended up getting shot in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. No one else in the house was hurt.
Even though he was dating Kelly openly, Meyiwa was married. Until his death he was married to a lady named Mandisa Mkhize and they had two children. He also had a child with Kelly, a baby girl named Aphelele who was born this year. So sad. May his soul rest in peace, amen.

Nick Cannon donates his $2m diamond shoes to charity
Y'all remember the $2.2million diamond-encrusted loafers Nick Cannon wore to the grand finale of America's Got Talent in September? Well, he has donated it to a children's hospital. The actor and TV host donated the foot wear to the St Mary's Hospital for Children in Queens, New York.
The shoes will be auctioned off at a later date and the hospital will keep all the money made from selling it. Nick says he's happy to donate the shoes

Boko Haram kills 4 Nigerian refugees in Cameroon
Four Nigerians taking refuge in a village in the far north of Cameroon have been killed by members of Boko Haram in an attack that took place on Friday October 24th.
According to a statement made available today to AFP, the Cameroonian Ministry of Defence said the sect members attacked "the village of Glawi, killing four Nigerian refugees and wounding one Camerounian, before being pushed back by defence forces which pursued them”.

Anambra state government over the last few weeks have demolished 3 buildings located at Aguleri and Umuleri, Anambra East LGA, which they say were used to keep kidnap victims.
The buildings include a four room bungalow at Ararite Aguleri owned by a man from Umuobanam but used by his caretaker, one Jude Onu from Imo State and his gang. Other kidnap gangs were said to have used the building as hideout while negotiating for ransom.
Another building which belonged to late businessman Ozoemena Egwuatu but was used by his nephew, one Ejima Nwandu for kidnap activities, was demolished at Umuatulu, Umurueri.
The government said they've embarked on the demolition and arrest of kidnappers in a bid to ensure a crime-free yuletide season in the state. See photos after the cut...

25 year old Blessing Onyibe Nwogbagami, (pictured above) has been arrested by men of the Ebonyi state Police command for killing her husband, Mr Onwe Nwogbagami, near their home at Ojegbe Amike Ugbodo, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
