'I will be Nigerian President in 2015'- Rochas Okorocha

For those who don't know, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, is contesting in next year's presidential election. Below is what he said during his declaration at a rally on Monday Nov. 10th.

“My people, in 2015 I will be the president of the country. Three months ago when I said I want to be president they asked, “Can an Igboman be president? But now when they count those contesting for president they will first count Rochas Okorocha, before Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and Kwankwaso. When they said they have zoned the presidency to the North, I asked, When was the meeting held? Now we have zoned it to Igboland. In 2015, there will be a turnaround in the fortunes of Ndigbo. They only know themselves; they don’t care about Igbo. APC is an emergency party for a new Nigeria; I would not have joined APC if PDP was doing well. We will defeat PDP in 2015,”

The new N100 note designed to commemorate Nigeria's 100 years of amalgamation was unveiled by Pres. Jonathan today Nov. 12th at the state house during the Federal Executive Council meeting.

While presenting the notes to other members of the Council, the president said it was a laudable gesture by the CBN to produce the notes which would serve as a reminder of Nigeria's centenary celebration.

Speaking on the new notes, Central Bank governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele said the notes will be in circulation from December 2014

Graphic pic: 10 killed at Niger state College of Education bomb blast today

At least ten people were killed today after a female suicide bomber blew herself up at the Federal College of Education Kontagora in Niger state today November 12th.

One of the students of the school, Mary Okafor who spoke with AFP, said they were all at the library reading for their semester examinations when they heard the bomb go off
"We saw bodies on the ground between the library and the female hostel. Among the bodies were two dismembered women who we believe were the bombers. At least 10 students were killed and several others injured. They have all been moved to the general hospital. We have all been asked to vacate the school. The authorities in the town have asked all schools to close." she said

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola addressed youths at a summit organised by the Youth Wing of the (APC) in Lagos yesterday Nov. 11. Speaking on the theme of the summit, “A New Nigeria by New Nigerians", he said that after years of President Jonathan leading Abuja, first as an acting president and later his four-year presidential tenure, the Federal Capital still has challenges of irregular power supply, water shortage, poor accommodation, poor transportation, poor traffic management & security.

"If Mr. President had managed the FCT well, there should be regular power supply at the centre of attraction in the country. I was in Abuja recently and I got hooked-up in traffic. So many things are not working in Abuja, the seat of our federal government. In Lagos, we have strived to add value to peoples’ lives and living.

Dementia hallucinations triggered Robin Williams suicide

According to a new report, legendary actor Robin Williams' suicide was triggered by a horrible disease called Lewy Body Dementia.

TMZ has obtained documents showing Williams was struggling with the disease, which is marked by abnormal protein deposits in the brain that disrupt normal function.
Lewy Body Dementia is a common condition associated with Parkinson's ... and people afflicted by both often get severe side effects from Parkinson's meds. Hallucinations are common, where patients see phantom objects, people or animals. The patients often try to converse with the illusions.
Robin's wife had told authorities shortly after his death he had been complaining about the meds and the way they made him feel.
Sources connected with the Williams family tell TMZ ... Lewy Body Dementia was the "key factor" they believe drove him to kill himself. We're told Robin's doctors agree that the disease was the critical factor leading to his suicide.

According to what he said on Trending TV show, he met Sonia on instagram a few months ago while he was trolling the pic sharing site after a bitter break up. He said he was going through a tough time after the break up and decided to seek solace on instagram and that was when he took notice of Sonia after a friend drew his attention to her instagram page.

CAF drops Morocco as host of 2015 AFCON, throws out Morrocan team

The Confederation of African Football CAF today dropped Morocco as host of the 2015 African Cup of Nations which is billed to start from Jan 17th-Feb 9th 2015. At an executive committee meeting which held this morning in Cairo Egypt, CAF's leadership said the decision to drop Morocco was as a result of the Moroccan authority's request to postpone the competition due to Ebola fears.

CAF leadership says they cannot postpone the competition and have withdrawn the rights of Morroco to host it. The Morrocan national team was also flung out of the competition. Find the statement from CAF as posted on their website after the cut...

Yobe State Govt shut down all schools in the state

Following the attack on Government Senior Science Secondary School in Potiskum yesterday by Boko Haram members which killed 47 students, Yobe state government today closed down all public and private schools in the state, indefinitely.

According to a statement released by the state's Commissioner for Education, the closure is with immediate effect.
