Another fallen hero: Lt. Mudassir killed by Boko Haram today

Liuetenant A. Mudassir (Mudex) was killed by Boko Haram militants today November 16th. He and members of his troop were on their way to reclaim Chibok from Boko Haram when they were ambushed and was killed during the ensuing gun battle.

He was a 59RC gentleman officer from the Nigerian defence academy. His bereaved friend, AS Aruwa shared his pics on twitter.

US aide worker Peter Kassig beheaded by ISIS

Former US soldier and aide worker Peter Kassig has been beheaded by ISIS. The US government confirmed his killing in a statement today after reviewing a video ISIS released that purported to show the beheading. The 26 year old Indianapolis man was captured in eastern Syria on Oct. 1, 2013, while delivering relief supplies for the aid group he founded.

This will make it the 5th foreigner ISIS has beheaded so far...

Former Governor of Anambra State Jim Nwobodo loses first son

The family of first civilian Governor of old Anambra State, businessman and politician, Chief Jim Nwobodo has been thrown into mourning as his first son, Dr Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo Jnr died on Friday November 14th at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu after a brief illness.

Dr Nwobodo Jnr was a medical doctor, who graduated from University of Benin over 20 years ago. He was one-time Commissioner for Youths and Sport Development in Enugu during the tenure of Governor Chimaroke Nnamani.

He was married to Lois Onyi Chukwu Nwobodo. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

According to AFP a female suicide bomber blew herself up this evening November 16th, at a popular mobile phone market in Azare, Bauchi State, killing several people.
“A suicide bomber came into the market as it was closing and blew herself up in the middle of all the merchants and their customers. I saw at least eight dead and lots of others wounded,” a witness Aliyu Habib told AFP

The world's tallest and shortest man in the Guinness Book of World Records, met each other for the first time on Thursday November 13 at an event in London.

The tallest man, 31 year-old Sultan Kosen from Turkey, a part-time farmer, is 8 feet 3 inches tall and can reach a basketball hoop without jumping. He became the world's tallest living man in 2009. He also holds the record for largest hands on a living person. His hands measure 11.2 inches from the wrist to the tip of his middle finger.

Synagogue building: 74 South African corpses released, flown home last night

74 bodies of South African nationals who died in the September 12th Synagogue building collapse, have been released to the South African government and was flown to South Africa last night.

The bodies which were retrieved from the General Hospital, Yaba and the Isolo General Hospital, were placed in mobile mortuaries pictured above. They will depart Nigeria viaw two chartered airplanes at exactly 11.50pm. Upon their arrival in South Africa, the corpses will be handed to families of the victims for proper burial. May their souls rest in peace...Amen.

BET canceling “106 & Park” after 14 years on the air…

After 14 years on the network, BET's top music/variety show “106 & Park” will air its final televised show this December.

BET President Stephen Hill said in a media statement on Friday Nov. 14th that 106 and Park will air its last episode December 19, 2014, and that the show would become "digital only."
"It’s been a great 14-year run as America’s top music/variety show on cable. And now that very valuable brand is going to take its talents to the digital realm. The interactive brand you helped build, '106 & Park,’ is alive and well and it’s moving to the space in which our audience now interacts with music the most: online.” Hill said
The show is currently being hosted by Bow Wow and Keshia Chante.

Nigerian military reclaim seized Chibok town in Borno state

24 hours after Boko Haram men captured Chibok town in Borno state, soldiers from the 7th Division of the Nigerian army yesterday reclaimed the community after a long gun battle that started yesterday morning.

An indigene of Chibok who spoke with Leadership, said a large deployment of soldiers were seen moving in from the direction of Damboa on Saturday morning and engaged the sect members in a gun battle, eventually overpowering them.
“We saw large number of trucks filled with uniformed personnel moving towards Chibok; initially, we were scared but later realised they were soldiers as they did not harass us like the Boko Haram gunmen usually do” the source said

The Super Eagles yesterday evening defeated their Congolese counterpart, the Red Devils, in a 2-0  match to get them closer to qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations holding next year.

Scores killed as Fulani herdsmen invade a village in Nasarawa state

Dozens of people have been killed today in a village called Alakio in Nasarawa state by Fulani Herdsmen.

The Herdsmen attacked the community in the early hours of today with guns and machetes as they slept. According to people talking about it on Twitter, the Herdsmen are still ravaging the town...and many residents have fled their homes for safety.

Kanye West & Kim put the new mansion they just bought up for sale?

First we hear that Kim visited a divorce lawyer this week, now Business Insider is claiming that the couple have put up the mansion they just bought up for sale. Below is the report from Business Insider
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are selling the 8,000-square-foot French country-style home they purchased for a reported $19.75 million in August, Curbed LA reports.
The mansion just reappeared on real estate listing site Zillow with a $19.99m price tag.
The home, which was formerly owned by Lisa Marie Presley, includes 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 2 swimming pools, two spas, and even a vineyard on its three acre property.
