Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, whose birthday it is today, said he will be spending his birthday with family, as they celebrate his wife, Jennifer Jamilah Abubakar, call to bar.

Bomb blast reported at Maiduguri Monday Market, 30 killed

Two female suicide bombers reportedly blew themselves up this morning at the Maiduguri Monday market in Borno state, killing at least 30 people. The bomb explosions happened at about 11.30am.

Zaaki Azzay welcomes 4th child as new wife gives birth to son

Popular singer, Zaaki Azzay and his new wife, Hembadoon, have welcomed their first child together, a boy. Hembadoon gave birth to their first child together on Sunday November 23rd at the Federal Staff Hospital, Jabi Abuja. Zaaki and Hembadoon got married in May this year after his marriage to first wife and mother of his three children, Hadiza Anyamikegh collapsed two years ago.

Hadiza who walked out of their marriage two years ago following allegations of domestic violence, said she's congratulated her ex on the birth of his son.
"I am happy for Zaaki. I've congratulated him on his new bundle of joy. His children- Mimi, Didoo are really jumping and happy for their new baby. May the new born child never see rejection in Jesus name. And may he grow in the house of the Lord, Amen" Hadiza told Encomium magazine in a telephone chat

Violent protests in US after grand jury decides not to indict white cop who killed unarmed black teen

Thousands of people flooded the streets from L.A. to New York late Monday night after a grand jury decided they were not going to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed 18 year old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, saying that officer Wilson acted lawful.

The jury was of course composed of 12 people; six white men, three white women, two black women and one black man. They met on 25 separate days and heard more than 70 hours of testimony from about 60 witnesses, including three medical examiners and other experts on blood, toxicology and firearms. And decided officer Brown did nothing wrong by killing a black unarmed teen 6 times.

After the announcement, protesters flooded the streets burning cars, setting buildings on fire, torching police cars, looting shops, flooding highways and causing massive chaos especially in St. Louis and Oakland, California. See some pics after the cut...

Sad. P-Square loses dad two years after losing their mum

Two years after losing their mum, the Okoye boys have lost their dad. Mr Okoye died yesterday November 24th. A source close to the family said that the late Mr. Okoye recently had a successful knee surgery and was about going for physiotherapy when he just fell. So sad. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Write Boko Haram to stop attacks, Oritsejafor tells Sultan of Sokoto

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has called on the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to members of Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Pastor Oritsejafor made the call today at a 2-day meeting in Abuja with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs to all state governors.
“His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move. I didn’t know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. But I want to appeal that you also write to Boko Haram because Boko Haram is worst than ISIS.

UK giant car company Jaguar Land Rover is furious after a relatively unknown Chinese car company called LandWind unveiled a car that looked almost exactly like the Range Rover E-vogue which at $22,000 cost $48,000 less than the Evogue which is about $70,000. Above is the Evogue and below is the Chinese car. It was launched at a motor show in China last week.

Photos: Abuja High Court reportedly frees alleged Nyanya bomber

A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has freed Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb blast which killed about 70 people in April.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the court in it's ruling, dismissed the two counts terrorism charges brought against him and freed him based on lack of diligent prosecution by the state.

Aminu escaped to Sudan after allegedly coordinating the attack. He was apprehend and repatriated to Nigeria in July. See more photos of him in court today after the cut...

Federal government bans the use of phones in Nigerian prisons

Following the recent jailbreak attempt in some Nigerian prisons in recent times, the Federal government today banned the use of phones by both prisoners and prison officials within the prison premises.

The ban was pronounced by Minister of Interior Affairs, Abba Moro while speaking with some senior prison officials in Abuja.
"I have visited some prisons in other countries as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Nobody, no matter how highly placed you are, you don’t come to prison with your phones, not even the minister of Interior as the supervising minister over the prisons. So, why are you an exception?. Henceforth, no matter who you are including myself, nobody goes into prison with telephones."

Muslim body questions Jewish symbol on new N100 note

A Muslim body, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has released a statement expressing concern over what it termed a Jewish symbol on Nigeria’s new N100 note which was unveiled recently.

Boko Haram members disguised as traders attack market in Borno state, many killed

Many market men and women are feared dead after Boko Haram militants disguised as traders attacked a market in Damasak town in the Mobar Local government area of Borno state this morning.
