A gas explosion rocked Arakele road in Akure, Ondo state this evening Dec. 13th, killing several people. According to eyewitnesses, the explosion happened at a gas station in the area and the fire from the explosion spread to residential houses within the area. Missing Nigerian baby boy found in Mexico, father arrested

The missing baby who went missing after his mother was found dead in a refrigerator at their home in Houston, Texas on Monday December 8th has been found in Mexico in good health.

11 months old Achilles Lambert was abducted by his Nigerian father, Patrick Lambert, who is a suspect in his estranged wife’s murder. Anastacia Lambert was stabbed to death. (read story here).

Houston police say the little boy was found abandoned yesterday Friday December 12th in Queretaro, central Mexico. Patrick was located somewhere else in Mexico and has since been taken into custody.

Olusegun Obasanjo's book sells out, SSS block importation of more copies

The controversial autobiography of former President Olusegun Obasanjo titled "My Watch" has reportedly sold out just four days after it was officially launched.

An associate to the former President who spoke with Sahara Reporters, said Obasanjo has exhausted the first copies of the book. “Baba sold all the copies that were brought in,” the associate said

The book sold out despite a high court injunction to stop it from circulating. A judge had ordered that copies of the book be confiscated by the police and the DSS after Obasanjo went ahead to launch it despite a court order not to do so...

Pics: Police arrest 13yr old girl wearing explosives-packed vest in Kano

This 13 year old girl (pictured above) wearing an explosives-packed vest was arrested in Kano state yesterday December 11th. The girl was arrested after she and a male accomplice walked into a clinic seeking medical treatment. Suspicious hospital staff alerted police who immediately arrested the two.

On searching her, Police discovered explosives hidden under her hijab. The police later revealed that the young girl was from Bauchi and was part of the 'suicide team' that attacked a market in Kano on Wednesday Dec. 10th.

Governor Rochas Okorocha picks Imo APC Governorship ticket after losing presidential

A few hours after losing his presidential ticket, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha picked the governorship ticket of the APC in absentia. He's now the flagbearer of APC in Imo state after his son in law Uche Nwosu, the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Planning, stepped down.

Uche Nwosu had initially been adopted as the governorship candidate for Imo State, a position he reportedly accepted to keep for his father-in-law in case he didn't win the presidential ticket. Nwosu announced his withdrawal yesterday following Okorocha's loss at the APC convention.
