Yesterday Dec. 21st, music legend Sir Elton John and David Furnish officially got married, after getting into a civil partnership nine years ago.

They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in front of family, friends, numerous celebrities and their sons Zachary, three and Elijah, 23 months.

They were both eager to share their happiness with the whole world and posted photos to their Instagram pages throughout the ceremony with the hashtag sharethelove.

Plateau Governor appoints his son as one of his commissioners

The Governor of Plateau state Jonah Jang has appointed one of his sons, Yakubu Jang, as the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Planning in the state.

Yakubu's appointment was announced by the state's Commissioner for Information, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar yesterday December 21st. According to the Commissioner, Yakubu who was until his recent appointment his father's special adviser on Special duties, was promoted to the office of a Commissioner following the immediate past commissioner, Yilji Gomwalk's resignation to pursue his political appointment as a running mate to the PDP Guber flag bearer in the state, Mr. Gyang Pwajok.

After 63 days in the Big Brother house, Tayo Faniran, first runner and Nigerian housemate recently returned home and was welcomed with all the pomp befitting a hotshot. MultiChoice Nigeria threw him a homecoming party which took place at the popular CovaLounge, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking with the media shortly before his party, Tayo said he was shocked when Idris Sultan of Tanzania was declared the winner of the reality show.

"I was really shocked when IK declared Idris the winner. I genuinely thought I would win, or at least be declared a co-winner! Nonetheless I’m incredibly grateful for the unique opportunity and exposure Big Brother has given me."

Man whose wife was killed in Jos bomb blast recounts his ordeal

43 year old Audu Goyar Chime, an indigene of Plateau state and husband of one of the victims of the bomb blast that rocked the city of Jos on Dec 11th, has recounted how Jumai, his wife of 22 years and mother of his six children got killed during the blast and how he has been faced with the challenge of raising their six children alone.

36 year old Jumai, a fruit seller had gone to Farin Gada, a popular vegetable market to buy cucumber, watermelon and pawpaw which she would hawk around the town to make some money to buy foodstuff to feed her family but was bombed to death after a female suicide bomber blew herself up at the Terminus roundabout. She was killed alongside many others.

Photo: Police release identity of man who shot dead two New York cops yesterday

Left are the two police officers who were shot dead yesterday December 20th while they sat in the marked police car in New York. They are recently-married Wenjian Liu (top) and father-of-one Rafael Ramos (below) , and right is the man who shot them dead. He's been identified as 28 year-old Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, from Baltimore.

Ismaaiyl had shot and wounded his girlfriend on Saturday morning before targeting the cops in an apparent act of revenge for Eric Garner's death based on what he wrote on his instagram page (read story here).

It was announced weeks ago that rapper/singer and actress Queen Latifah's show will be canceled after only two seasons and now there are reports that she will be using her own money to pay her laid-off staff after official production of the show was shut down.

"Latifah is using her own money to pay the show’s crew through the holidays even though production has officially shut down. (While original episodes of the show will run through March, the production crew is no longer necessary.)" a source told E! News

New York police officers shot dead by black man as revenge for Eric Garner & Mike Brown

Two uniformed NYPD police officers were shot dead execution style yesterday September 20th while they sat in their police car on a Brooklyn street corner and investigators believe they were killed to avenge Eric Garner and Michael Brown because of what the killer wrote on instagram hours before committing the murders.
