An outraged crowd of about 60 people gathered behind police crime scene tape early Wednesday morning as the body of Antonio Martin, 18, lay in the parking lot in front of the Mobil on North Hanley Rd for more than two hours, according to eyewitness reports.
Police allege that Martin drew a handgun on the officer as he approached during a routine patrol. Witnesses saw a weapon at the scene next to the body.

Lagos state government allegedly deports 70 beggars to Northern Nigeria
The Lagos state government has allegedly deported 70 beggars back to Kano state after they were found loitering the streets of Lagos. According to a local Hausa radio program monitored by Sahara Reporters in Kano state, the beggars most of whom are indigenes of Niger, Kaduna, Kebbi, Jigawa Zamfara and Sokoto states, said they were bundled from their begging points, held for several months before they were deported to Kano recently.

Award winning actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, in an interview with Encomium magazine, said that anyone who comes between a married couple deserve to be jailed because that person is robbing the couple of their joy.
"I think it should be a crime for anyone to come in between a couple. I feel anybody that comes between a married couple be a man or woman should go to jail. Such a person is robbing the family of their joy. To me, it is a crime that is worse than stealing another person's property" she said.

Late Dr Stella Adadevoh, Chimamanda Adichie make CNN's leading women 2014 list
In a list released earlier today by CNN, late Dr Stella Adadevoh was recognized for her significant contribution towards the prevention of the spread of the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria while Chimamanda was recognized for her contributions to African Literature.
