President Jonathan says he is one of the luckiest Nigerians alive, that he is yet to see any Nigerian who is as lucky as himself. He said this while receiving residents of the federal capital territory (FCT), led by Namadi Sambo, in Aso Rock yesterday April 5th.

"For me as an individual, this Easter coincides with the time I am leaving but I always say that I am one of the luckiest Nigerians. I am yet to see somebody luckier than me.

From 1999, I was in the hands of government for 16 years. Not just in government as a parliamentarian because if you are a senator or House of Representatives member, you take care of yourself, you live in your own house. I was in a cage, being taken care of by the government for 16 good years. I think it is enough and I am happy. CIA predicted Nigeria will break up after 2015 elections, it took Jonathan to stop it - Doyin Okupe

Media aide to Pres. Jonathan, Doyin Okupe says he never said anyone should call him a bastard if the APC won the elections and also said it took the humanness of president Jonathan to stop CIA's prediction that Nigeria will break up after the 2015 elections. What he posted on Facebook below...

President Jonathan and his family begin to move personal effects from Aso Rock

According to a report by Punch, President Jonathan and his family members have started moving their personal belongings out of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. One of the newspaper's reporters said he saw some buses loaded with travel bags moving out of the President’s official residence on Friday April 3rd.

It is believed that the president and his family will return to Otuoke, Bayelsa, once his tenure ends on May 29th.

There are also reports that the reason for the early removal of personal belongings of the First Family is to allow for renovation work of the residence to commence before Buhari comes into power in May. 

5 killed by Boko Haram members in Konduga, Borno State

Suspected members of Boko Haram killed five people in Kayamla in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State yesterday April 4th. According to reports, the sect members stormed the village, destroyed properties and shot indiscriminately. They were however repelled by the vigilante group in the community who came together and fought them off. This will be the first attack in Borno state after the presidential election.

Nine killed after gunmen go on shooting spree in Rivers state

Nine persons have been confirmed dead after unknown gunmen stormed Obrikom and Obur communities in Rivers state yesterday April 4th. According to a statement by the Rivers state Police spokesperson, Ahmad Muhammad, the gunmen attacked the community, killing 6 persons instantly while 3 others died on arrival at a hospital where they were rushed to for medical attention.

Two other persons are reported to have been injured and are currently receiving medical attention. The gunmen also set the home of a politician, Vincent Ogbagu, who is running for a seat in the state House of Assembly in the April 11th election, on fire.

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, has given assurances to Nigerians that he will handle state resources with utmost responsibility and honesty and would not condone the looting of public resources

He said this while receiving a delegation of the people from his home state, Katsina, who came to congratulate him winning the presidential election. Buhari said savings from his war against corruption would be ploughed into education with the objective of empowering citizens.

“If you give education to a man or woman, you have empowered them to be productive. There is no better way to empowerment,” Mr. Buhari said.

Lol. All these election drama! AIT now suing Tinubu for N100billion

 

Bola Tinubu's media office released a statement on Monday saying they are set to sue Daar Communications, owners of AIT for what he said was a defamatory content of a documentary aired on Sunday about him on their station. Tinubu asked the TV station to retract the documentary, issue a letter of apology and demanded N20billion as cost of damage done to his reputation.

Well, AIT has counter-sued Tinubu. They are asking him to apologize for telling them to apologize to him when they were only just doing their job..lol. They are also asking for N100billion for injury inflicted on AIT. Choi! Lawyers go chop money anyhow. See AIT's press statement after the cut..

Shocking news! Actor Muna Obiekwe is dead

So sad! Actor Muna Obiekwe has died. He died yesterday afternoon around 4:15pm in a hospital in Lagos after a battle with kidney failure. He was rushed to the hospital yesterday after he collapsed at his home. Muna has been quietly battling this kidney disease but kept it hush hush from friends and colleagues. Sad! A colleague said for over two weeks before he died he didn't go for his dialysis.

Muna needed money for his health problems but instead of going public to raise money, he told friends he was planning a stage play to raise money but died before he could do it.

Meanwhile, there's some twitter handle called @MunaObiekwe that's denying his death. That is not Muna! Unfortunately the real one is gone. Unbelievable! RIP to a great actor!

FG reduces pump price of fuel; statement by the Petroleum Minister

What Diezani Alison-Madueke said this evening as she announced a reduction in fuel price...

As you may be aware, there has been a lot of volatility in the oil market in the past few months and due to this the importation prices of our petroleum products have been impacted.

Therefore, with the approval and directive of Mr. President and by virtue of Section 6 clause 1 of the Nigerian Petroleum Act, it is my responsibility as Minister of Petroleum Resources to hereby announce a reduction in the pump price of Petroleum Motor Spirit (Petrol) from the current Ninety Seven Naira (=N=97) per litre pump price down to Eighty Seven Naira (=N87=) per litre pump price, effective from twelve (12) midnight Sunday, 18th of January 2015.

Bird flu hits Lagos and Kaduna - according to Ministry of Agriculture

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced new cases of Avian Influenza otherwise known as Bird flu in Nigeria. Avian influenza is a type of viral disease affiliated to birds only and is an infectious disease.

In a statement released on January 15th, the ministry said that there has been an increasing number of deaths of poultry animals in two poultry farms and live bird markets in Lagos and Kano.

I don’t trust politicians, they are liars - Pastor Adeboye says

The GO of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye says politicians are liars and he doesn't trust them because they don't fulfill their promises. Pastor Adeboye said this while speaking at a prayer meeting at OAU, Ile Ife, Osun state yesterday January 16th.

"I don’t trust politicians. Politicians are liars. They don’t fulfill most of their promises. A politician can tell you that they will give all of you (students) chicken each, which we all know it is impossible.” he said

Pastor Adeboye advised Nigerians not to be worried about the forthcoming elections as God has already decided who will be President. “God has already planned who will be the President of Nigeria.
