INEC declares PDP Emmanuel Udom winner of Akwa Ibom governorship poll
The returning officer for Akwa Ibom state has declared PDP’s Udom Emmanuel the winner of the governorship poll in Akwa Ibom state. Mr Udom pulled a total of 996,071 votes to beat APC’s Umana Okon Umana who pulled 89,865. Meanwhile there was massive protest by the APC calling for cancellation of the election in the state. APC says the elections was marred with lots of irregularities.

PDP defectors should not expect automatic appointment in my government - Buhari
Addressing newsmen after casting his vote at his polling unit in Daura Katsina state on Saturday April 11th, President-elect Gen Buhari is quoted as saying by Tribune that PDP defectors should not expect automatic appointment as ministers in his government.
"I have no fears of PDP defectors. The people who are defecting will only have influence in their constituencies. Since their constituencies are now controlled by the APC, their influence is, therefore, limited. I hope the people that are defecting will accept the fact that they are joining the people who succeeded. So, I don’t think they will just come and say they want to be ministers next month, simply because they were ministers before.” he said

APC's Akinwunmi Ambode has been declared winner of the 2015 governorship election. The governor-elect pulled a total of 811, 994 to defeat PDP's Jimi Agbaje who pulled a total of 659, 788 votes.

El-Rufai wins governorship election in Kaduna, receives concession call from incumbent governor
Former FCT Minister and APC governorship candidate in Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El Rufai has been declared winner of the Kaduna state Governorship election. He pulled a total of 1, 117, 635 votes to defeat the incumbent governor and PDP candidate, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero who pulled a total of 485 833 votes.

Wife of former US President Bill Clinton, and former US Secretary of State. Hillary Clinton, 67, has formally entered the 2016 race for the White House in a bid to become the first woman US president. She announced her interest to run yesterday April 12th.

INEC declares Imo State Governorship election inconclusive
INEC has declared the Imo State Governorship election between APC candidate, incumbent governor Rochas Okorocha and PDP candidate, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, inconclusive.
According to INEC results announced in Owerri yesterday, the APC candidate polled 385,671, while the PDP candidate polled 306,142.
Returning Officer in Imo state, Prof. Ibidapo Obe, said they were declaring the election inconclusive because of the number of canceled votes which was 144,715, compared with the margin of win by Okorocha which was 79,529. Prof. Obe said a new date for new election in the wards in the different LGAs where the votes were cancelled will be announced soon.

Femi Fani-Kayode has released a statement calling out APC for alleging that President Jonathan was in Lagos to rig the state governorship election in favor of PDP's Jimi Agbaje. The statement below..
"It is not true that the President has any rigging plan for Lagos and neither do we need any such plan because our party is very strong there. The problem that the APC has and the reason that they make such asinine and stupid allegations is because they actually believe that they own Lagos State and all those that live there. They are now in a state of panic because for the first time in 16 years, they are facing a formidable challenge and they know that Jimi Agbaje of the PDP is likely to win.
