General Buhari reportedly reads riot act to family members

President elect, Gen Buhari has reportedly read the riot act to members of his family, warning them that they will face the full wrath of the law if they commit any crime while he serves as President.

According to Daily Trust, Gen Buhari read the riot act to members of his family in Daura, Katsina state recently. A Family source said he gathered all his children and family members together and advised them to seek meaningful ways to make a living, stressing that no family member of his will enjoy any preferential treatment. He also told them that non of them is welcomed to Aso Rock if they are not invited, adding that the Villa is a place for serious minded people and not for idle family members.

APC Taraba female guber candidate loses rerun election to PDP candidate

Nigeria's dream of having the first elected female governor has been dashed after the APC Guber candidate in Taraba state, Aisha Alhassan, lost the governorship rerun election to the PDP governorship candidate, Darius Ishaku.

INEC this afternoon declared Mr Ishaku winner of the rerun election held yesterday April 25th. Mr Ishaku pulled a total of 369, 318 votes while Aisha Alhassan pulled a total of 275, 984.

25 year old Aladi Sule was attacked with acid by her ex-lover, Kazeem Abdullahi, a few weeks ago in Kogi state. According to the story told by Vanguard, Ladi and the man who attacked her had been lovers since secondary school. When she fell pregnant, the couple decided to live together but unfortunately the child died.

Then when they began to have problems, the man married someone else, prompting Ladi to leave the house. Then the man came begging but her family demanded that he marry her properly first before she moves back in with her.

Bruce Jenner's second wife and mother of his sons, Brandon and Brody Jenner, actress/lyricist Linda Thompson, 64, wrote an article titled 'How Living With and Loving Bruce Jenner Changed My Life Forever'. In the piece, Linda explains how Bruce came to her in 1985 and told her 4 years after they got married that he wanted to become a woman. This actually led to their divorce. "If Bruce had told me about his gender issue when we first began getting romantically involved, I would not have married him. Pure and simple." Linda writes. Her story is quite touching. Read below..

2000 Boko Haram members storm Marte in Borno state, capture town

Marte town in Borno state has reportedly been captured by Boko Haram members after about 2,000 of them stormed the town on Thursday April 23rd and engaged Nigerian troops in a gun battle, forcing the troops to flee the town.

A resident of the village, Imamu Habib, narrating what happened said;
“The terrorists, numbering over 2,000, appeared from various directions on Thursday and engaged the soldiers in Kirenowa town and adjoining communities in Marte. They fought with soldiers over the night and the fight continued today (Friday), forcing hundreds of soldiers to flee” he said.

In the highly anticipated interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer, Bruce Jenner revealed that he identifies as a woman. The 65 year old father of 6 and Grandfather of 7 confirmed that he is reinventing himself physically in a bid to transition from male to female.

Speaking in front of millions of viewers, including 4 of his children from his first wife, Burt, Brandon, Casey and Brody Jenner, Bruce tearfully revealed:
'To all extents and purposes, I am a woman. My brain is much more female than it is male. That's what my soul is. Bruce lives a lie. She is not a lie.' He added: 'I can't do it anymore.'

Anambra state governor Willie Obiano who is an APGA party member paid a congratulatory visit to President elect, General Buhari in Abuja on Friday April 24th. According to Governor Obiano, he came to congratulate Buhari on his victory at the polls as well as ask him not to sideline the Igbos in the constitution of his cabinet. Incumbent Governor Okorocha wins Imo State governorship elections

Governor Rochas Okorocha of APC has been declared winner of the governorship election in Imo state after beating his main rival, Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha of PDP. Okorocha  polled 416,996 votes while Ihedioha got 320,705 in the re-run elections that held yesterday.

Xenophobic attacks: South African minister denied visa to enter Israel

You know their people suffered xenophobia back in the 1940s, so I guess they have zero tolerance for it. A minister from South Africa was denied visa to visit Israel for diplomatic work.

The government of South Africa has expressed outrage after Israel's decision to deny a visa to Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande. Clayson Monyela, Deputy Director General of Department of International Relations and Cooperation, told Al Jazeera on Thursday the Israeli government needed to offer a reason for the snubbing.

Zoning of National Assembly offices: APC meeting end in deadlock

A meeting of top members of APC convened to resolve all disagreements bordering on the zoning of top offices in the incoming National Assembly ended in a deadlock on at the Rivers state Governors lodge Abuja on Wednesday April 22nd.

According to Vanguard, the meeting came to a deadlock after the leaders failed to reach a consensus on where to zone the office of the speaker of the House of Representatives. The members were divided between zoning it to the North-East and South-West. The leaders however agreed on the zoning of the office of Senate President to the North-Central and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, to the South-East.

ISIS militants brutally stoned two gay men to death only seconds after they were photographed embracing and 'forgiving' them.

The shocking images were taken in ISIS-held territory in the province of Homs and show the two accused men being savagely executed by up to four jihadis.

Huge, bloodthirsty crowds are seen in the desert clearing where the group of executioners made a display of hugging the blindfolded couple and telling them they were forgiven of their 'sins', before pummeling them to death with hundreds of fist-sized rocks.
