Shirley Igwe has released new photos from her recent photo shoot for her Website / YouTubechannel. Shirley, who became Principal Protocol Officer to governor Rochas Okorocha a few years ago says she no longer works for the Imo state government.

"I no longer work with Imo state government and I don't have any connection to Rochas, those who mail me projects for assistance home and abroad should stop please."

MEND commends President Buhari for the clean-up exercise of Ogoniland, describs Jonathan as a colossal failure

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has released a statement commending President Buhari for flagging off the cleanup process of the oil polluted Ogoni land. In the statement made available to Sahara Reporters today June 7th, the militant group said successive governments including that of an indigene of the area, Goodluck Jonathan, failed to carry out the cleanup of the region as recommended in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Members of the PDP National Caretaker Committee today took over the leadership of the party as they replaced the National Working Committee of the party. Former Deputy National Chairman and former Acting National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus on behalf of the National Working Committee, handed over to the caretaker committee members.

Hillary Clinton secures Democratic nomination after delegates count

Hillary Clinton is the presumptive Democratic Party Presidential candidate according to reports by the Associated Press who put together a tally of Democratic Party delegates who voted for Clinton last night. The count puts Mrs Clinton on 2,383 - the number needed to make her the presumptive nominee which makes her the first female nominee for a major US political party.

Pres. Buhari orders suspension of military action in Niger Delta for 2 weeks

Lawyers representing former governor of Delta state, James Ibori, have accused Britain's prosecuting authorities of withholding information from them regarding alleged corruption by a British police officer who is involved in Ibori's investigation and also making misleading statements in court.

The lawyers made the allegations at the resumed hearing of the case against Ibori at the Crown Court, Southwark UK yesterday June 6th.

Skye Bank sacks 200 staff

Skye bank yesterday June 6th, laid off 200 of its staff, disregarding the Federal government directive to all banks to halt all retrenchment exercise. According to the management of the bank, the sacking of 200 of its workers was because the affected staff failed in their 2015 appraisal.

The affected workers got to work yesterday only to be handed their termination of appointment letters and severance packages.
Last week, Ecobank fired 1040 of its staff while Diamond bank sacked 200 members of its staff.
