EFCC arraigns ex Abia state Governor Orji Uzor Kalu in Lagos for money laundering

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today Oct 31st, arraigned former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, before a Federal High court in Lagos over money laundering charges. Kalu who was governor of the state between 1999 and 2007, had approached the Court in Abuja to stop the EFCC from prosecuting him in Lagos, but his request was denied.

Comedian Ominiaho arrests Grace Ogbuji for alleging he blackmailed her

Comedian Ominiaho also known as Omini by his friends has gotten Ogbuji Grace Amarachi aka Gracia arrested by the police for alleging on her IG page on Sunday that he tried to blackmail her with a lesbian video she took with her friend Drea in 2011. Read here

According to Ominiaho, he never threatened to blackmail her at any point in time and claims that all she wanted was just publicity.

Humanrights watch accuse Police, Soldiers, Vigilantes, other govt workers of raping & sexually exploiting female IDPs

Camp leaders, Police Officers, Soldiers, Vigilante groups and other authorities working at Internally Displaced Persons camp in the North, have been accused of raping and sexually exploiting some of the female IDPs.

A report published this morning by the Human Rights Watch, states that women and girls abused by members of the security forces and vigilante groups – civilian self-defense groups working with government forces in their fight against Boko Haram say they feel powerless and fear retaliation if they report the abuse.
