Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has become the latest ex- Premier League star to make a big-money move to Chinese Super League after completing his medicals with Tianjin TEDA yesterday. President Buhari has welcomed the rescue of another Chibok schoolgirl, Rakiya Abubakar, who was rescued in the Alagarno area of Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State yesterday January 5th.

According to a statement released by his media aide, Femi Adesina, President Buhari noted that the recovery raises renewed hope that other captured girls will one day be reunited with their families, friends and community.

The airline has released a statement condemning the attack on one of its managers by angry passengers at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport two days ago (Read here). In a statement signed by its Communications Manager, Ola Adebanji, the airline said the verbal and physical attack on its staff and the destruction of some of its properties by frustrated passengers, is unacceptable and will be legally addressed.

According to Adebanji, trouble started when the airline’s Lagos-New York flight was rescheduled from Wednesday to Thursday due to the shortage of aviation fuel.

Nigerian soldiers rescue another Chibok girl and her baby

One of the abducted Chibok girls, Rakiya Abubakar, and her baby, were reportedly rescued near Sambisa Forest, by Nigerian troops of the 27 Brigade around Alagarno area near Ajigin in Damboa Local Government area, Borno state earlier today.

A military source has confirmed this development. This rescue comes three months after 21 of the abducted girls were also rescued close to Sambisa forest. Over 200 of the girls were abducted by Boko Haram members in April 2014 at their hostel in Borno state.
