The National President of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Muhammad Jameel Muhammad, has said the removal of Jim Obazee as the Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and suspension of the council’s regulations may not be unconnected to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

Osinbajo is a prominent pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Nigerian soldiers releases 257 suspected Boko Haram members

As part of the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration, the Nigerian soldiers on Sunday released 257 suspected Boko Haram members who were in detention to the Borno State government.

The detainees – comprised of men, women and children – were released to the Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Usman Durkwa, during a ceremony at the Ramat Square in Maiduguri.

Corps member, Eze Ejike Godwin was involved in a road traffic accident which resulted in a spinal cord injury.

Godwin, who is serving in Kogi State, had traveled safely to his home state of Enugu during the yuletide period but later had an accident there while riding a motorcycle.

She was aged 26. Until her death, late Miss Akajiobi was undergoing the compulsory one year National Youth Service programme in Kaduna State and was due to pass out in March.
