The other day I was in the midst of what I thought were reasonable people, some lawyers, engineers, real estate guy's and as usual the topic of conversation was our dear country Nigeria.
When someone said, " Abegi president Buhari should bring back our corruption" To my surprise, everybody was laughing. I missed the joke but I could swear the speaker was expressing the sentiment of the people I was with who were engulfed in a Mumu laughter.

South Africans burn Nigerian houses in Johannesburg

Residents of Rosettenville in Johannesburg on Saturday, February 11, went on a rampage burning 10 houses they allege belonged to Nigerians running drug dens and brothels in South Africa.

According to the angry residents, they said Nigerians have been running illegitimate businesses in the country.

Final year student, five others killed in fatal accident along Owerri-Okigwe road

Six people including a final year student of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, were killed when a  Hilux truck rammed into a tricycle, popularly known as Keke, last Friday morning, on the ever busy Owerri- Okigwe Express road in Imo State.

Four passengers died instantly while the student identified as one Bright Ononiwu, and the keke driver passed away the following day in the Hospital.

On Monday, the Osun State High Court in Ilesa, was reportedly stormed by yet to be identified hoodlums, who set the place ablaze. According to Punch, the hoodlums invaded the court at around 6:00am and set ablaze the Court 2 which is one of the courts handling some sensitive cases.

Sources at the court said the hoodlums also wet the registry of the court with petrol but left without torching that section.

Majek Fashek to sue Timi Dakolo for N100m over ‘copyright infringement’

Nigerian music legend, Majek Fashek is set to drag Timi Dakolo to court . His manager, Uzoma Day Omenka, said they would be suing Timi Dakolo for using Majek’s all time hit, ‘Send down the rain’ without authorization.

He said before the end of March after their return from a trip to the United Kingdom, they would file the suit unless Dakolo can provide proof of authorization by any representative of Majek.

43-year-old father faces prosecution for inflicting injuries on 2 of his children in Plateau

43 year old father of three, Christopher Sule, has been arrested and will be facing prosecution under the Child’s Right Act for physically assaulting two of his children and causing the minors' serious bodily injuries.

According to the Management Committee Chairman of the Jos South Local Government Area, Augustine Pwakim, Christopher will be made to face the law for violating the Child right act which has been enacted in the state.

Adele confirms she's secretly married and slams estranged dad in Grammy Awards speech

Singer, Adele has confirmed that she secretly married her long term partner, Simon Konecki. She made this revelation during her Grammy Awards speech. The singer who won five awards was emotional as she took to the stage to accept the award for best album.

She thanked her "husband" gesturing towards partner Simon Konecki who watched from the audience, saying

Lady narrates how her grandmum who was pronounced dead came back to life

MTV Base VJ, Kola took to her IG to share a photo of her grandmother whom she said was pronounced dead. She wrote:
"While I was at church today I got really devastating news. My great grandmother on my father's side died this morning. She was believed to be between 105 to 115 years old. She had a long life, and although every moment of it may not have been the greatest, she never gave up hope. Hope in God, her family, and all that they could achieve. Ma ma, I love you so much and may your spirit rest in perfect peace.

Customers complain that Kylie Jenner's eyeshadow kits gives them headaches

Media reports claim that at least 15 people filed complaints within the past 2 weeks with the Better Business Bureau, claiming they smelled "chemicals and glue" when opening Kylie's Royal Peach Eyeshadow Palette which sells for $45.

Customers described the odor as "spray paint" or "paint thinner," and one said it stunk so bad she put the whole package outside her house.

Eric Arubayi's brother reveals consumption of expired malaria drugs caused his death

On Saturday Feb. 11th, West African idol 2nd runner up, Eric Arubayi died after a brief illness. His brother, Derrick Arubayi has revealed that he took expired malaria drugs which led to his death. Speaking to Vanguard, Derrick revealed that Eric had been sick with malaria and typhoid and things got worse after he took the expired drugs. It led to liver failure which eventually led to his death.

IPOB members accuse FG of planning to assassinate their leader, Nnamdi Kanu

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, have alleged that there are plans by the Federal government to stage-manage a terror attack at the Kuje prison where their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, will be killed. The group made the allegation in a statement released by two of its spokespersons, Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, yesterday February 12th.
“The assassination will be carried out in the form of a stage-managed prison escape of detained Boko Haram terrorists.

Federal government confirms whistle-blowers will take 2.5 to 5% of total loot recovered

The federal government has confirmed whistle-blowers are entitled to 2.5 -5% of total amount recovered .A statement by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the
“whistle-blower policy has started yielding fruit as it has so far led to the recovery of US$151 million and N8billion in looted funds”.

Thousands of Mexicans protest against Donald Trump in Mexico City

In the face of Trump's anti-Mexico rhetoric, 20,000 Mexicans took to the streets of the capital, Mexico city in defiance at the President's hostility towards them. Most of all, they were protesting against his plans for a border wall and increased deportations.

They also stood against the pressure he is putting on U.S. corporations to provide jobs in the United States, not Mexico. Demonstrators carried Mexican flags and dressed in white as a sign of unity.

Whistle blower claims former NNPC boss had four safes and not one as reported

The whistle-blower who informed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC about the foreign currencies hidden in a safe by former managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Andrew Yakubu, claims there were four safes and not one as reported by EFCC.
The anti graft agency on February 3, raided Andrew’s house in a Kaduna slum, Sabon Tasha where they discovered a safe with a staggering sum of $9,777,000 and another sum of £74,000.
