Federal government recalls two of the nine sacked NCAA directors

Barely 24 hours after they were dismissed, two out of the nine directors of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have been recalled. The recalled directors are Adamu Abdullahi, Director of Consumer Protection, and Capt. Ayodele Sasegbon, Director of General Aviation.

General Manager, Public Relations, NCAA, Sam Adurogboye, announced their recall today and said that their sack have been rescinded.

Photos: EFCC operatives open up ceiling, sewage tank as they raid home of former Chief of Naval staff in Kogi state

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission yesterday raided one of the houses owned by former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin in Anyigba, Kogi State. The raid was carried out following a tipoff that there might be some stolen money hidden in the ex-military chief's house.

During the raid, EFCC operatives who drove in a pick up hilux van, ransacked the house, turning open sewage tank and breaking into the ceiling. However the search was fruitless as they couldn't find anything incriminating.

Federal Government appoints 3 new directors, general manager for FAAN

The Federal Government has appointed three new Directors and a General Manager for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

A statement signed by the Acting General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu, the newly appointed directors are Group Captain U.S.A. Sadiq, appointed as Director of Security Services (DSS), Capt. Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, appointed as Director of Airport Operations (DAO); Engr. Salisu Nura Daura, appointed as Director of Maintenance and Engineering; and Aniefiok Umoh appointed as General Manager, Finance.

CBN reintroduces cashless charges on bank deposits and withdrawals nationwide

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Thursday, reintroduced charges on cash deposits in banks after its' 493rd meeting with the Banker's committee, This would take effect at different dates in different parts of the country. Director, Banking and Payments Systems Department, Mr. Dipo Fatokun, announced this in a circular entitled: “Circular on nationwide implementation of the cashless policy.”

Federal government sacks all directors at NCAA

The Federal government has ordered the immediate sack of all directors in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The letter of their dismissal was issued from the Ministry of Transport.

Confirming the dismissals to newsmen, the general manager of NCAA, Sam Adurugboye, said the reason for the sack was however not stated in the letter.

A few weeks after sending a letter of demand asking his estranged wife, Toke Makinwa to retract the words in her tell-all memoir, On Becoming, to stop the sale of the book, copies that haven't been sold should be retrieved and for her to tender an unreserved apology in several national dailies, which Toke, of course, ignored, Maje Ayida has instituted legal action against Toke, asking for N100million in damages over the book he claims contains defamatory words that do not represent his person.
