Gunmen kidnap businessman in Yenagoa, Bayelsa

A Bayelsa-based businessman, Chief Okorobia of Unduwari town in the Southern Ijaw local government area of the state, was on Sunday, September 24th, kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Akenfa, a suburb of Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital. According to reports, the gunmen stormed the residence of the victim, shooting sporadically before taking him away to an unknown destination. The kidnappers are yet to reach members of his family.

President Trump adds North Korea, Venezuela and Chad to the list of 8 countries affected by his travel ban

US President Donald Trump on Sunday, issued new travel restrictions on citizens from North Korea, Venezuela and Chad, increasing to eight the list of countries covered by his original travel bans.

Other countries included in the ban are Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Somalia. Restrictions on citizens from Sudan were lifted.

Eiye cult members kill their leader in Lagos and here's the reason why

A manhunt has begun for the cutists suspected of killing their leader in the Bariga area of Lagos state. The slain leader, popularly known as Major, is said to be behind the initiation of Eiye boys in Shomolu and Bariga areas of the state, New Telegraph reports. He was described as a fearless leader and a terror in his community and to other rival cult groups. He was eventually killed, allegedly by his fellow Eiye cultists, while he slept at  his home in Taiwo off Rashida Kotun Street Idiaba, Bariga, Lagos, last month.

Gift Igwe, nursing mother sets 10 year old brother-in-law ablaze in Lagos state

A nursing mother identified as Gift Igwe has been arrested by Policemen from the Igbogbo division after she set her husband's 10-year-old brother ablaze at their home on Adenugba Street, Agunfoye, Ikorodu. The reason given for this unhuman behavior from Gift was simply because the little boy was unable to produce a pair of trousers when she demanded them.

Residents in the area, who heard the cries of the little boy, rushed to his aid and put out the fire, but during that process, he reportedly passed out.
