A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)  Happiness Chinenye Emmanuel passed away recently,  just two months to complete her service. She was laid to rest in her hometown on Thursday, September 21.

Her brother Kelechi Augustine Sunday, who announced her sad passing, didn't mention what led to her death. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

Hurricane Maria: Pres. Buhari orders evacuation of Nigerian students from Dominican Republic

President  Buhari has ordered the immediate evacuation of Nigerian students from Dominican Republic following Hurricane Maria which caused the deaths of no fewer than ten.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said Buhari was moved by the condition of the students.

British Airways launches investigation into shocking video of their stewardess making racist comments about Nigerian passengers

British Airways has reportedly launched an investigation into a trending video that shows one of their yet-to-be identified air stewardess making racist comments while laughing about Nigerian passengers on a flight from London to Abuja.

In the shocking footage shared on Snapchat, the stewardess is heard saying;

A 23-year-old pastor of a Pentecostal church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Kingsley Ihunda, was over the weekend arraigned before a chief magistrates’ court for allegedly biting an expectant mother on the waist and infecting her with HIV during a deliverance session in his church on July 27th. The victim who already has a child, had gone to the pastor for prayers after she had lost several pregnancies. She was referred to the pastor by a female herbalist, Treasure Victor, who told her that the pastor's prayers were very effective as she had taken some other women to him for prayers.

5,000 PDP members defect to APC in Delta state

Over 5,000 members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, have defected to All Progressives Congress, APC.

Olorogun Ovoke Oshasha, who led the defectors, said: “We are tired of PDP in Delta State; we are tired of being governed by people who cannot pay workers’ salaries, who cannot provide good health care, who cannot provide adequate security for lives and property and cannot complete meaningful projects that can change the economic activities of Ughelli North.

Graphic: Sea pirates kill two passengers on a boat in Bayelsa state

A man and a woman were killed in an attack by sea pirates at in Bayelsa state yesterday September 25th. The victims were on a boat traveling from Yenagoa, the state capital of Bayelsa state to Okpo Ama Kingdom in Brass LGA in the state, when they were attacked.

Other passengers on the boat sustained serious injuries and have been taken to the hospital. The body of the deceased victims have been deposited at the state morgue.
