Troops kills Boko Haram food and logistics suppliers

The Nigerian Army on Friday said two Boko Haram food and logistics suppliers were ambushed and killed at Malamti village in Guzamala Local Government Council of Borno. Timothy Antigha, a colonel and deputy director, Army Publication Relations, 8 Division, made the disclosure in a statement issued to newsmen in Maiduguri. He said the troops recovered ammunitions, food items, consumables and animals from the insurgents.

Edo state govt. sacks Perm Sec, suspends three others over alleged N283m fraud

The Edo State Government on Friday sacked a permanent secretary in the State Ministry of Youth and Special Duties, Dr. (Ms) Osayuware Idahosa and three other civil servants over  allegation of padding the budget for the conduct of primary school examination to the tune of N283 million.

Dr. Idahosa, who served as Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Education at the time the alleged fraud was committed, was referred to the State Civil Service Commission for appropriate action, according to the rules and guidelines of the service.

41-year-old arrested and jailed for raping and impregnating neighbour's 15yr old daughter

A Kaduna State Senior Magistrate court has ordered that a 41-year-old man identified as Yahaya Idris, be remanded in jail for raping and impregnating his neighbour’s 15-year-old daughter. According to the judge, Hajiya Falile Dikko Idris is to remain in jail until November 6, 2017 when his case would come up for mention.

The prosecuting counsel for the police, Inspector Sani Ado, told the court that Idris committed the offence at Gawa Village in the Bindawa Local Government Area of the state where the victim lived with her parents.

Toddler shoots playmates at daycare facility

Two toddlers were hospitalised in critical condition after a playmate accidentally shot them with a loaded gun at a daycare in the US state of Michigan. Police in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn said the child managed to get a hold of a loaded gun on Wednesday inside a private home that functioned as a daycare.

The toddler fired either one or two shots that struck two children, both three years old, according to US media which also reported that there were multiple guns inside the home.

On Sunday September 24th 2017,Chinonso was among the two people who died, while others were rushed to the hospital.was on her way to when she met her demise.

Mum arrested for leaving her four young kids home alone while she vacationed in Germany

An Iowa mother's European vacation came to an abrupt end. Erin Lee Macke was arrested Thursday by Johnston police for allegedly leaving her four young children home alone while she traveled to Germany for an 11-day vacation.

According to a press release, police were called to Macke's home on Sept. 21 following a report that children had been left without adult supervision.

The electoral body made the announcement on Thursday, adding that the gubernatorial and state assembly elections and the Federal Capital will hold on March 2, 2019.

INEC also said it would release the timetable for Ekiti and Osun gubernatorial elections coming up in 2018.

Nigerian lady discussed suicide method with friend before leaping to her death

 A Nigerian lady resident in the UK, who suffered from depression for 4 years, committed suicide by jumping from a bridge after discussing suicide methods with a friend, an inquest heard yesterday.

"Extremely bright" Lara Nosiru, 23, had taken some medication and class A drugs when she plunged off Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol in January this year.  She went there with fellow Bristol University student Kasumi Kishi, who told police she had hoped to convince Ms Nosiru not to kill herself. CCTV footage shows Kishi pulling Lara from the edge twice before she gave up and left. Lara's mother is upset and thinks Kishi should have tried harder to prevent her daughter from killing herself.
